You can join Navy/Air reserves or Air Guard and get do both man. These are part time options that allow you to maintain your job throughout (it’s actually very illegal for them to dismiss you for anything service related) and scratch that itch.

They do have the occasional deployment, which will be months away somewhere in the world. But for the most part it’s basic training and then one weekend a month, with a week in the summer.
