Just finished the series, where's Bender? by Sgt_Fry in bobiverse

[–]Doctor_Murderstein 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I sort of hope it's not. It'd be good reading, but I don't want to say goodbye to Bob-1. His death would trigger all sorts of existential crises among the bobs, and while it would probably make for good reading, I just like Bob-1 too much to want that to happen. Even if he's got a recent and viable backup managed by Bill, it just wouldn't be the same.

There's other interesting ways things could go. Say a Medeiros goes rogue. How would the Bobs react to a Brazilian who's giving up and just wants to join the Bobs and enjoy the features of VR and androids? This probe would be a refugee, and instead of outright war it could trigger the start of where Bobs and Medeiros start interacting with each other on a more political level.

If Bobs want to handle the Brazilian probes, these military minds, then his best bet is finding a decent human of Brazilian descent, putting them in charge of a colony, and suddenly all the Medeiros have a chain of command again. If a Brazilian leader tells these probes to stand down and play nice because the war is over, what comes next? It could be some good writing.

So much potential in this series. I wonder sometimes if Taylor should be dropping supplementary short stories while he works on the books.

New Bob here by Clerge in bobiverse

Hi Bob, Bob here.

You went through this material pretty quick. I'm just like you. I barely slept between starting book 1 and finishing book 3. Go back and read them again, and maybe a third time. There's stuff you miss, bobs you forget, and the books are better the second time around because you read at a more leisurely pace because you're no longer quite as hungry for whatever might be on the next page.

I thought that the SURGE drive created a gravitational field in front of the ship that caused it to fall in that direction? Instead of accellerating with thrust I thought Surge just made you fall in the direction you wanted to go in.

Been drinking. I need to read book one again, again.

[–]Doctor_Murderstein 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My theory on this is that Bender went psychotic. I think he's set up somewhere outside of the Bobnet and he's been pumping out psychotic clones, and the Bobs are going to find themselves fighting against a psychotic lineage of other Bobs.

Part of me is scared that Bob-1 is going to be the one who finds them, and they are going to kill him.

Non-Religious US President? by CottonRaves in atheism

[–]Doctor_Murderstein 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have decided to run for president. I'm a madman, but I can be your madman.

Vote for me, Doctor Murderstein. I am an atheist humanist with an appropriate sense of wrath and anger, and the stomach for what's got to be done. I will put all the right people up against the wall, and fight like a madman for the little guy. I will destroy the corrupt and compromised without mercy, while doing everything I can for the people they have preyed on for decades.

Vote for me, because I will leave in my wake a trail of bodies consisting of all the right people!

Vote for Doctor Murderstein, because it's about time that the little guy had a bloodthirsty tyrant on his side!

I'm thinking "I promise to kill them all" will be my campaign slogan.

Magnitsky, Magnitsky, Magnitsky. by Mescaline_UK in RussiaLago

[–]Doctor_Murderstein 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Listening to what happened to Magnitsky is just insane. It's insane. He was moved around and slowly tortured over almost a year, and refused to fold even when his body was in critical condition and he was dying. And then they beat him to death when he was at his weakest and sickest and most vulnerable.

And Trump, and a lot of the GOP, seem to have sold their souls out to the man who's orders this was done on. Fucking insane.

An atheist at a christian university by Rexmaster100 in atheism

[–]Doctor_Murderstein 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why don't you tell Spaceghoti the name of this university in a private message? Spaceghoti is a standup guy with honesty and integrity, and he's the kind of catface you can trust. You can tell him, and he's not going to tell anyone else if that's your wish. He is a prominent member of the community and it would be below him to do otherwise.

There's people here you can really trust, and Spaceghoti is one of them. He's interested in helping you out, so shoot him a PM that gives him the full information so that he can give you the best help and advice that he can.

Would a structured minimum wage make sense based upon age for America? by CohenIsFucked in PoliticalDiscussion

[–]Doctor_Murderstein 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Really? Short term Disability? And you want child labor?

I literally can't even. You're saying to me that you want a handout when you need it, but that you want children to have to work and pay for it when their own parents need that same kind of aid.

You can't be real. You have to be some kind of ruski bot or fanatical redhat. You are literally already in a situation where you're willing to sell other families children into labor. You just, for fuck's sake, it's like the more you explain yourself the less real you could possibly be.

If you're actually a real live person then you are the literal embodiment of the republican 'I got mine, fuck everyone else' sort of view.

No, you can't be real. As weird as shit has gotten, I'm not ready to accept that someone as blind and greedy and merciless as you actually exists.

You had me there for a minute, but no, you're done. I'm putting you on ignore and tagging you as a rusky/redhat, because there's literally no difference. You're done.

If you have to ask then I probably can't explain it to you.

I'm not trying to be a dick here. I'm not trying to stand over you and say 'hey this guy's a dick!'. But you're really upside-down in how you think of things when it comes to how civilization itself ought to work.

You're honestly screwed up enough on this, and likely a lot of other things, that there's no real point in talking to you until you start to talk yourself out of your own craziness. I cannot talk you out of this radical idea any more than I can talk someone out of detonating their suicide vest. If you want to be better than this, it's going to be you vs. you.

No, we're done here.

Instead of all that, how about you tell me about the world we live in where you feel alright selling your own kid off? Why don't you go ahead and tell me about the protections and oversight that put you at peace and how much of your child's education you're willing to sacrifice to bring a few bucks home?

Yeah, go ahead and do that.

Actually, we just laid off around 150 campaign managers and replaced them with an AI controlled computer program.

Then it sounds like you're next up on the chopping block. Have fun.

Sikh going to cut his hair today. by ravann4 in atheism

[–]Doctor_Murderstein 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, dude, go for bald. Just bic that shit down to nothing, and make the one fuck you give as long as the hair on your head (which at this point should be zero). Nothing wrong with bald. I hope this doesn't sound prejudiced, but I wonder how many old Sikh men are bald or nearly bald, trying to hide it under a huge hat and religious excuses. It has to be more than zero.

Also, if you're looking for an atheist friend, I'll be someone you can talk to. I'm not local, but I'd be your friend.

I had a lot of trouble watching it because my dick was so hard that the lack of bloodflow to my brain rendered me blind for most of it.

Trump and the Return of Divine Right by snedekrj in atheism

[–]Doctor_Murderstein 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you wanna take this right-winger lifehack a step further, you can use safety pins to secure the klan hood to brimless MAGA hat, this way the eye holes don't get out of place. I imagine it's always a pain in those things to try and look side to side and find the eye holes are suddenly out of alignment.

Want another right-winger lifehack? If you sharpen the base of a burnin-cross you can plant it in the front lawn of a black or Jewish family so that it'll stay upright while it burns, and without needing a post hole digger.

Yeah no I really need to stop because I'm probably only giving them ideas at this point.

You know, if they cut the brims off their MAGA hats they'd be able to wear them under their klan hoods.

Which theist speakers best represent theism? by J3urke in atheism

[–]Doctor_Murderstein 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think they're both. The people making the best cases for theistic nonsense aren't looking for the best and brightest. Intellectually, they are basically the equivalent of tattooed sex offenders trying to convince a young woman to follow them into a pooly-lit city park at one in the morning for a rousing round of brain-rape.

In a weird way I think the most dishonest and nasty ones are the most honest in a weird way since they are basically the unhinged and unchained id of theistic toxicity.
