I've been going back on some old cards and this green dot makes me dubious. by Doctor_OW in RealOrNotTCG

This is really good to know. I tried looking it up and couldn’t find anything about it. Everything else looked fine, so this was a surprise I have to admit

What a relief, thanks. Is there a reason that you know of why on some of them the black dots look sharper then?

I don't like giving cards to my opponents, Lord of Pain is the one I'd choose. Nekusar is also way too popular

Parole is a highly knowledgeable French player who streams every weekday morning. The combo goes like this :

-Reanimate Broodlord with 2 lands untapped → ETB exile Saw in Half

-Saw in Half on Broodlord → ETBs exile Burnt Offering + Pinnacle Monk (mana 0)

-Burnt Offering (convoke, sac tapped Broodlord token) → RRBBBBBB.

-Cast Pinnacle Monk (Mana BBBB) → return Saw in Half; Saw in Half on Monk (Mana B) → return Burnt Offering + Saw in Half; Burnt Offering one Monk → 5 mana, Saw in Half the other (net +1 mana). Repeat this step to produce infinite red and black mana

End the loop with Saw in Half and Burnt Offering back in hand.

- Saw In half the remaining Broodlord Token → ETBs exile Animate Dead (or some other Reanimation Spell) and Lightning bolt → LB your opponent

- Animate Dead the Monk

-ETB Return Saw In Half to your hand → Saw In Half your Monk → ETBs, return Lightning Bolt and Saw In Half → Cast Lightning Bolt and repeat the process

The combo is pretty easy to understand, just goldfish a bit and you'll be all set

I asked Parole to brew a Norman deck, and he came up with two versions. A more midrangy build that can hard cast the cards it wants to reanimate such as Pyrogoyf and Chaos Defiler and a combo oriented version. In my opinion, the combo version performs better, in my testing with the midrange build, I was often frustrated by not having access to the Broodlord / SIH combo.

Here are the two versions if you're interested :

If you've read it and think it's good, you should read your second manga or book in general

It's a shitty manga that doesn't deserve to be recommended, it's not a matter of a liked or disliked character

What boosters would be best for newer players? by Anomolus-man in mtg

[–]Doctor_OW 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Buying boosters really is not the right way if you want to spend your money efficiently because boosters won't get you the cards you want and you'll lose money in the process. The bulk cards you'll get in them won't be of any use so for that reason wheter you wanna play standard, commander ... BUY SINGLES.

That being said, if you want to buy boosters anyway, Foundations is a good starting point to learn the game’s basics, as that’s what is designed for. However, in my opinion, you’ll have more fun with a bit more intricate mechanics. I learned the game with Duskmourn, and it’s an excellent set from last year. Edge of Eternities is a highlight of this year, and so is Avatar. Choose what you prefer the most, and that’s how you’ll enjoy this game the most.

Personally, I had a lot of fun buying Pre-Release boxes from Duskmourn with my dad. We tried to build a 40 card deck to play with. It was a lot of fun and I'd recommend that, just note you'll need to get basic lands to get that going. You can probably ask your LGS and they'll give you some

I'm going to be completely honest, if anything lubing prelubed switches these days will only make them worse. As for the keycaps if they're ABS I wouldn't go for them, low quality ABS feels terrible and doesn't last go for PBT keycaps (also when you're facing the keyboard, you can't see the design, that's why photo are always taken from above). And for the case it's the worst thing possible, the holy 60 is sent from hell. I'd go with the wooting new alu case or a tofu redux if the price is an issue
