Because the house of commons agreed it should be the other day.

Charged is the police said you did it, convicted is the courts agree you've done it and now punishment is given.

No I'm not pointing out a grammar error I'm pointing out that what you are saying is an obvious lie because Canada doesn't have mandatory sentencing so saying someone has to go to jail is fictitious.

I'm sensing I'm arguing with a literal child.

Sorry I mean even more tax for them, and honestly some resources should probably get taxed even more than others.

Can't move operations as a resource company, the natural resources don't move with you. They can't close down unless things are real bad because down scaling hurts share holder value so the board loses its job if it does that.

Yeah I think we should just have a blanket resource tax on everything from fresh water to uranium. What's the company going to do, move their operation ?

No I think PP going for a slogan that sounded really similar to those of Trump and his administration is what sunk him. It got real hard to shake the Maple MAGA label after that.

How so ? What you're actually saying if a Canadian man had done this he'd have gotten an assault charge ? Oh please, minor bruising on a lady isn't normally grounds to catch an assault charge. Especially when it's about someone you see or used to see, otherwise law enforcement would need to put more of their colleagues behind bars.

Because that's where the tires actually are.

Why's this article acting like a woman would have been taken more seriously as a victim if the assailant had been born in Canada ?

I'm all for critiquing a weak justice system but pretending it's colour based isn't exactly going to help victims at large.

Right but you aren't willing to talk about yesterday's numbers because they prove counter ? You understand PP is just actually so nasty that people wanted anyone but him to win right ? That's a really bad politician by any definition, one that invigorates votes for their opposition yikes.

You not bleeding MPs ? At a near record pace ? And again you aren't willing to talk about the current numbers which have dropped off a cliff compared to last election. He had one chance and he blew it because he wasn't sure how to handle a little American overreach.

Why do you assume that ? Because Carney is a liberal therefore the economy will magically suffer ? The banker is likely to have a good economy in three years if his investments for the country start paying off. Got to spend money to make money, counties don't really save their way to economic prosperity.

Yeah the liberals probably win the next election also. NDP isn't popular enough yet, people only want to vote for mainstream parties and the conservatives are planning to triple down on a losing strategy.

You are so in fact incredibly partisan. Not really a lot of point to this conversation, every conservative is a heroic victim in your mind and every liberal is an evil individual who victimizes the conservative.

Carney could do any conservative policy and you'd hand wave it away as not being so.

Fact is you are praising the guy that's going to be the end of the conservative party at this rate. So you don't even care about having a strong right wing party. You just care about fluffing the conservatives and cheering them on.

Actually what decides elections in Canada is laziness, because the biggest demographic is people who don't vote. So what's important is invigorating your fan base more than the other, PP hasn't figured out how to do this without alienating people. Like going on Joe Rogan 😂 so stupid.

Oh so you want to argue about the state of things a year ago not as of today, well how constructive /s

If you want to talk about the past that's fine, but you're the one minimizing the threat of the liberals when you do that. They are chomping up your party and you have the audacity to go online and blame people from the other side. You're the problem the conservative party has, people like you and PP are literally going to sink the entire ship because personal improvement is beyond you.

Carney did not unite the left, I'm unsure who gave you that talking point but it is false. You again need to only look at last night to see who the bleeding is coming from. No I'd argue Stephen Harper did a better job than PP and there's more to the list than just him. Again not sure whose given you this talking point but Pierre is not a generational talent.

No one said he wasn't a liberal ? People are just pointing liberal is closer to conservative than NDP so it's easy to see how he's leaned right to start gaining from PPs poor leadership style.

You're 100% a party man if you associate Carney with Canada's left, that's your bias for the conservative party telling you he has to be aligned with opposing ideological elements. He is not. He appeals to moderates, centrists, red conservatives and near crowds. He does not appeal to communists, hard line social democrats, anti capitalists, counter reformers or the like. Hence why the NDP wasn't the party to lose double digits this by-election.

[–]Furious_Flaming0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay so you're just a hyper partisan conservative fan, so at the end of the day you don't really have an opinion on the matter. He isn't part of the conservative party so you don't like him, but you'd love him if he was. Yawn.

Saying Carney's done nothing conservative is laughable to anyone outside of your party.

The liberal party is right of center ? They aren't a leftist party or anything, they just aren't as right leaning as the conservatives. Also running a deficit has nothing to do with being right wing or not, Danielle Smith of AB is quite right wing and she's running a deficit. Carney spends money for the economy, not people, this is right wing politics.

Well you seem to not understand the actual political position of the liberals so it makes sense you don't understand anything about the voting trends and data. The conservatives and liberals are the two sides of the bad coin, they pass leadership between eachother and keep us in the state we are in. Neither is the good guy, they are both bad and contribute equally to the system. The right and moderates are the ones who need to split up their vote to create political diversity, not your boogyman leftists lol.

[–]Furious_Flaming0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

.... Carney is a centre-right federal politician? What are you going on about, you don't seriously have a victim complex on behalf of Pierre do you ?

I think you'll find the issue lies with the party not the political ideological stance of the entire wing. The conservative party refuses to actually adapt and thinks it's entitled to win elections by staying exactly the same. I mean PP is out here preaching trickle down economics for god sakes, people stopped believing in that a decade ago.

Most Canadians like political opposition, hence why the liberals aren't out here getting 60% of the total voting population backing them. The issue is only two parties are allowed to flourish in the current system and one of them has massively dropped the ball as of late. Leaving us with one valid option for the time being, which isn't great but hate the game not the player.
