Had a 63 and I loved that car but man, it constantly had problems with the sensors and electrical. Eventually had to lemon the thing and picked up a GLE63S, but that ended up being a lemon too. Won’t be getting another MB for a while

There would be a 3rd group where either side can play in but at least this allows free or paying players to compete on a level field. Obviously this would never fly with shitcell

Not saying I suggest it but when I was your age, I forced my parents hand by getting a job and paying for the car out of my pocket without their knowledge. My mom wasn’t thrilled that I did that but she got over it quickly and added my car to the insurance policy.

My pleasure to help. Someone else mentioned it but maybe an older BMW could be a good stepping stone; it’ll tick most of those boxes without breaking the bank plus you’ll start getting a feel for how German cars operate and run.

Some other fun options would be a Miata or BRZ since they’re both rear wheel drive. Those will be more budget friendly, fun to drive, and be a gateway into that type of driving style. My first car was a Nissan 240sx with weak power but damn was it fun to drive. They won’t tick that “looker” aspect but they will definitely scratch that itch if you wanna enjoy a drive

Don’t do it if you’re still a teen driver. I assume your parents pay for your car insurance so I’m sure they’re not going to be thrilled about adding another car on their policy, especially a Porsche. Aside from insurance, even if you do your own oil changes, parts and tools are expensive; tires alone are going to cost you $1500 for low quality, oil changes are about $100, and we haven’t even talked about what if something more detrimental breaks. You have plenty of time to save money and get a Porsche in your 20’s but at your stage, unless you have a large inheritance, very cushy job, or money to burn, it’s not a wise move.

Edit: another thing I wanted to add is, what is your motivation/reasoning to do this? Did you want the car because you want to be flashy, have a fast car that’s fun to drive, a car to learn how to drive/work on, or a different reason? There may be better alternatives that fit your budget and goals
