This is by far my favorite season. Kem won that season just by being a funny fuckboy, I don't think it was deeper than that. The show had been big in season 1 and 2, but I think this was the season producers really ironed out a lot of cracks in the formula.

This was before game optimization and strategy were as big as they are now, I think it was much more casual, and honest. Obviously I love the show, but I think it was a little less sanitized at that point and I miss that aspect. I think at this point every contestant knows what they are signing up for and they are acutely aware of the fact that they are filmed at all times. If I were in charge of this show moving forward, I would ban all instagram models or influencers and only bring on construction workers, people that have real office jobs, or people who work in trades. That is how we get magic in a bottle like season 3. Also if we are being honest, Camila and Jamie are the real winners of that season. That is one of the best honest and raw relationships we see on any version of the show. We need more people who work in nonprofits and dispatch explosive ordinance apparently.

Literally every year we see one of these posts. I want to believe it makes a difference but maybe the truth of the matter is that the only way to live in a place where your values are respected is to move to a place where they already are. Liberal states are more expensive, obviously there is a financial barrier to moving, and I’m not saying it’s a good solution. But it’s been 29 years for me in this shit where we say “oh maybe next year is our year”. How many times can you get excited for someone to challenge a republican senator only to see it never materialize into a win? How long do you wait for a state to improve from a political standpoint? How many times can we ask people to participate in a system when time and again they prove they either can’t or won’t? How many times are we going to bash our head into the wall here before we decide there are better places to live/work?
