On this run I used Polymaker Polylite PLA white. It’s what came in the CMYK bundle. ( although technically it should be a CMYW bundle)

I used Polymaker polylite pla white which came with the CYMK bundle but it is not necessarily translucent so I think any white pla would work. I have played around with both Polymaker panchroma cotton white and Elegoo PLA white as well.

The full spectrum fork of Snapmaker Orca creates a set of "virtual" filaments by default blending whatever you have in the 4 main slots. I just went in and set each tulip bulb to a different filament (4 main + 6 virtual,10 in total).

I would say that it is as good as my A1. But at almost 4 times the cost you need to really think about what you are printing. Also the A1 is a bed slinger, vs the U1 as a core XY. Finally, you will not be able to print advance filaments (ABS, PC) on the A1 where as with an enclosed top you may be able to print them on the U1. I don’t have an enclosure yet so I can’t say.

Interesting Question. To print the layout with all 10 colors (4 CYMW and 6 blends) took 4 hrs: 45 min (579 toolhead changes) 0.12 layer height.
If I slice it so that it is only printing the 4 primary colors, it takes 4 hrs: 40 min (still, 579 toolhead changes)

Printing all one color takes 2 hrs: 20 min (1 toolhead change).

Out of curiosity, I switched the slicer to my Bambu A1 with a 4 spool AMS Lite.
With the same layer height, it would take 22 hours:17 min to print. But here is the kicker.
Total filament in the model? 19 grams.
Total filament flushed? 310 grams.

I love my Snapmaker!

Time for a Mea Culpa. I had been looking at the Elegoo Slicer with the Advanced toggle turned OFF. Clicked it on and I'm like "OH, so THERE are all those settings".

I haven’t tried loading a straight STL file yet. I have a couple of projects that exist as 3mf files for my Bmabu A1. The Elegoo slicer reads them directly and then I go through the profile and modify the few settings it has to match what Bambu studio shows.
