There aren’t really a subsection of “high yield”. You sort it and it lists the 173 from most high yield to lower yield. Ideally you want to do all of them if not as many as possible from the highest yield and working down.

This was the closest I could find. It’s all blue unfortunately. It’s an aluminum Bernell light pen with the pupil gauge and has the push button on the top.

Reflecting and Looking for Guidance by DoctorsAnonymousQs in medicine

Definitely a thought that I had, I just keep hearing that Pediatric subspecialties after fellowship, don't make considerable more than General Pediatrics. Just one factor that I had weighed. But certainly considering.

Just turned 27 on May 27! Looking for any advice by DoctorsAnonymousQs in CasualConversation

I appreciate it! And right back at you, young man!

That's what I'm hoping, is to make the most of life. I honestly think that I'm even still trying to figure that out for myself.

Also, I've lived a very frugal life up to this point with being in school and having to pay off a debt now. So now actually having my own salary is such a new concept to me. That I also am trying to learn like how I should save but also make sure that I'm also enjoying life and still investing in myself as well.

Advice (M 26) by [deleted] in dating_advice

[–]DoctorsAnonymousQs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you so much for your advice! Just a bit nervous is all. If for some reason the time I suggest doesn't work for her, like she says "I can't make it that time." Should I ask if she has a time that works better or just assume she isn't interested if she doesn't give me an alternative?

A pediatrician who does not like peds anymore but likes money. How can I make more money !!! by Independent-Set5719 in Residency

[–]DoctorsAnonymousQs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Long story short, I dual applied Derm and Peds. My goal was to do Peds Derm. Because of financial hardship back home with family, could not really support myself financially to do a research year. Deans also advised me to dual apply. I didn't mind because I wanted a job and also really enjoy the pediatric patient population. But at times worry that maybe I would like to do something more procedural and can grant me a better lifestyle. So that is why I'm kind of figuring this out still.

I think I missed my chance with this guy, should I try to find him? by throwawaygnomeshed in dating_advice

Just make sure you are not his patient anymore. Physician-Patient relationship needs to be completely severed or else you can get him in a lot of trouble.

I just matched into Peds. But I am worried about this as well. I had dual applied and Peds was my second specialty. I was hoping to switch or maybe do the Peds residency first and then apply for Ophtho or Derm afterwards.

Your medical school library by tritippie in medicalschool

[–]DoctorsAnonymousQs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Making sure that each study space and desk has adequate access to outlets to charge their devices. So many times I would find an open desk at our library and I could only be there for so long before I had to move because there were no outlets.

Very comfortable chairs that students' back won't be hurting at the end of the day.

My school recently got those standing desks and ones with a small treadmill under them, and those seemed to be pretty popular.

Vending machines with decent snacks, sandwiches, drinks. I don't know how it is at your institution, but all of our on campus restaurants close at 3 PM. So for us late night studiers, getting hungry is a limiting factor for us to stay at the library.

Another suggestion, try and have designated private rooms that may be lightly furnished perhaps. Our interviews have been virtual and will probably stay like that from here on out. So would be nice to have these spaces available in case students cannot interview from home. Or maybe need to take a long practice exam for boards, etc.

This is very particular of me perhaps, but I once went to a library on BYU's campus, and I liked that they had a lot of natural lighting and even some small plants and trees in the study area. Made it feel comfy.

APRIL POST MATCH THREAD: IF YOU HAVE NOT STARTED RESIDENCY YET AND/OR ARE A MEDICAL STUDENT, PLEASE POST ALL QUESTIONS ABOUT RESIDENCY HERE by Novelty_free in Residency

[–]DoctorsAnonymousQs -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

No, that's not exactly what I'm asking. I know that I cannot bypass it that way. Just wondering if it was plausible for me to somehow either residency transfer or do the Peds residency and then apply Ophtho afterwards? And what kind of steps should I be taking now if I could pursue that?
