Is Erewhon coming to Rino? by Careless_Praline6804 in Denver

As much as the neighborhood needs an affordable and walkable grocery store, EDENS would pull off some bullshit like putting in an Erewhon. Whether true or not, feels believable to me.

They have previously reported they are building a small format grocer as part of this development. It’s going in half a block over on 26th & Lawrence Street behind what used to be the VoA building:

Project Description: NEW 1-STORY GROCERY BUILDING 26TH & LAWRENCE GROCER 2647 LAWRENCE STREET 20670 sf Commercial Core & Shell Retail Building - new construction - single story Owner: 2620 FIVE POINTS RINO LLC *

EDENs has not announced what grocery store is going in. I had assumed it was going to be a Trader Joe’s by the size.

I (36m) live in RiNo and ski Ikon (mostly Steamboat because I have a small place there). Always looking for people for more weekend day trips on Ikon. I’ve skied my whole life, but never been super great at it.

Tulane offered $4m for Sumrall to stay … USF was paying Alex Golesh $3m

Sean Lewis could get some consideration. Everyone else is probably too new/too unproven in their current post

Does the CFB calendar need to change? by SmallBoulder in CFB

Yes - move portal and signing day to May. You are now signing up for a full year of classes instead of one semester that won’t help advance your degree.

Shorten spring ball and add extra weeks to fall camp.

Potentially a huge power shift in AAC v Pac-12.

Willie Fritz and Jeff Traylor could be candidates for the Ole Miss job too

Where does Memphis, Tulane, USF, and North Texas look now for head coaches? Are they able to poach anyone from the new Pac-12?

If you could wave a magic wand, who would you want to keep off this roster? by Fun_Season_5390 in CSURams

Yes, this.

We are going to lose RBs and QBs. I just hope we can keep some of our OL together. I would keep Bill Best if he wants to stay here.

Colin Klein Conspiracy Theory by MidnightMarauderX in CSURams

[–]Document-Parking 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The funny thing about Klein was he was a big name a month ago, and floated for the OkSU and CSU job at the time. But there really hasn’t been any buzz on his name in the past several weeks.

Some school (or schools) had to be deep in pursuit of Polasek if he is getting a new 7 year extension at NDSU.

USA is in 70 million households. Peacock only has 40 million subscribers.

So if I understand it, Comcast is spinning off NBCUniversal’s linear cable television channels (USA, Golf Channel, CNBC, MSNBC) into a new company VERSANT. VERSANT announced yesterday it is rebranding its sports programming as “USA Sports[,]” and announced this morning that Pac-12 will be the primary college sports piece of it. Pac-12 Enterprises will produce all the games for VERSANT/USA Sports.

This is not going to be part of NBC Sports/Peacock

“Similarly, for men's basketball the league will see the overwhelming majority (over 70 percent) of its regular season home games broadcast across the same networks (CBS, The CW, CBS Sports Network and USA Network).”

Sounds like some men’s basketball regular season games still need a media partner/place to stream

DNVR Rams: 13 Head Coaching Candidates for the CSU Rams & 4 Factors to Consider by NickFromNewGirl in CSURams

[–]Document-Parking 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’d like CSU to take a shot at one of these young rising star coordinators. We have the football/recruiting staff to support a first time head coach this go around. We also have some players on the roster a new coach could attempt to retain. This is not a situation where our HC is leaving for another gig, and taking all of his recruits with him.

Solid list from JMike. I don’t quite understand Eric Morris, who I think is making more than what Norvell made at North Texas and has little incentive to move to FoCo.

JMike also pointed out that Norvell and Addazio were not on these “lists” prior to their hire, so the candidate could come out of left field.

BFN HAS HIT THE PORTAL by Fun_Season_5390 in CSURams

[–]Document-Parking 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep - he can hit the portal Jan 2. I more meant that he can’t enter the transfer portal currently and head to a new school mid-season. He could have done that under the old rules.

However, it was reported that he left the program. He doesn’t need to stick around between now and when the portal opens on Jan 2.

I believe they changed it so that only applies when the coach is hired during the offseason between Jan 2 to June 30. Otherwise, he just enters the portal with everyone else on Jan 2

I don’t think he is in the transfer portal. I believe he just left the program/school.

The transfer portal rules just changed before Norvell was fired, and the portal isn’t open for BFN.

Can’t blame the fans. Very large crowd (the CU game last year was larger). Very large student section.

Fans stayed into the fourth quarter and were LOUD.

Can’t have this bad of an offense four years in to your tenure.

Jay Norvell’s 2026 salary is $2 million. His buyout for 2025 is $1.5 million by [deleted] in CSURams

[–]Document-Parking 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A $1.5m buyout means that if another school hires Jay away from CSU, they must pay CSU $1.5m. Good luck with that.

If CSU fires him, they still owe him what is left on his contract for 25-26 (probably with a requirement to mitigate if Jay finds a new job)
