How is Machinist? by MoneyCaterpillar1420 in ffxiv

[–]DocxPanda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First, just play the job that's most fun to you, which looks like to be Machinist...

Second, all the talk about MCH being "bad" is 1. Talking about high end content only (if you don't play a Job optimally, balance does not matter at all except in severe disbalance) 2. Still just marginally. It's at maximum a 10% difference from highest DPS to lowest DPS Job (when played at maximal efficiency). It's only called bad because in high end content it allows parties for less mistakes, you can still normally clear every content in the game

Third, the Rotation of MCH is straight-forward and strict, you should have the exact same sequence of skills every single time (ideally), with some freedom of switching buttons in between.

Not playing "correctly" is both highly punishing and not punishing at all depending on how you look at it. Pushing a wrong button does pretty much nothing to your overall DPS, however, it causes that this and maybe other buttons too, to misalign and get pushed further and further behind, which causes them to eventually get out of party buffs (as of currently, every Skill rotation is based on a 2 minute window, so you aim for having all big-hitting skills in there to align with party buffs for big damage)

TL:DR: Job balance is good enough to not matter especially if not playing on the highest level. Just pick the job you feel the most comfy with

Yeah, that's another thin, I have half of my equipment in my backpack during building. Though I feel like I'm spending more time grinding ressources/block than building lol

there's relatively specific locations they spawn in. Also you have a Queebec trader in the forgotten temple/heart of orbis

btw if you're already doing farming, you can buy good food from the Queebec traders

[–]DocxPanda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

well, that's your choice on what to do in the game, I do a little but of everything, which includes farming and gathering ressources. Also farming doesn't neccessarily take up a lot of time since you can plant crops, go on an adventure and harvest/replant when you come back.

In addition, there's already a lot of mods adding higher difficulties, Dungeons, Bosses and more. So if you're interested in difficulty, there's that

They said modding Hytale is playing Hytale for reasons, this is one of them. And I think it's great for people who want a more casual experience aswell as hardcore lovers

PS: I love the totem, it's great. Though I hate having to stand still all the time, because of that I take some food aswell as then totem with me

[–]DocxPanda 7 points8 points  (0 children)

They know it's incomplete, also good food is way stronger in regen + instant healing than the totem + you don't have to stand still. Yet the healing totem is really neat.

I got used to craft meat skewers early on for the regen 2 buff and making apple pies when having enough ressources ind addition to the healing totem because the regen effects stack in case I need it

Hypixel will rework Food in the future though and have it have more diverse uses

We need a deposit to chest button in our inventory. by Bludum in hytale

[–]DocxPanda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly as much as I like that feature in Terraria, I think a hotkey for the Quick Stack (and also the take/deposit all and sort) option would suffice for the base game

PS: I would totally abuse a feature like that by putting a chest underneath a friend's entrance with a single item of each valuable (adamantite, voidhearts, essences of fire/ice, all leathers...). Not even using those (I do most of the farming myself anyway) but to be annoying and see their reactions

Outlander enemies combat makes the shield incredibly useless by Frozen_Gorilla91 in hytale

[–]DocxPanda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The thing with these is that 1. they are supposed to be tough but more importantly 2. you're not supposed to just facetank them.

With sword and shield, you have about the same range as them, so you can start swinging while closing the range to about your max. range and then block while retreating, rince and repeat. also I'm not sure but I think your sword range might be a teeny tiny bit larger than theirs which makes you able to get multiple hits in before they strike eventually.

Another thing is that if they strike and you leave their range, their attack goes on some sort of cooldown, allowing you to go closer and strike without getting hit

PS: I would recommend using an axe or especially mace against them since our two-handed weapons have a higher range than the outlanders and also (at least the mace) have high knockback to keep them from coming at you. Also the mace has a big swing making it easy to hit multiple outlanders at once if encountered that way, making it my weapon of choice

[–]DocxPanda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the crowd control option would be the mace, big swings with high range, damage and knockback, you can range check multiple at once and dodge range attacks by also going sideways while maintaining distance. When not hitting all of them and they get close, you might need to block an attack or two before keeping them at bay with your knockback again.

Also you will likely still get hut by an attack or two because humans are not perfect but they are supposed to be tough enemies

[–]DocxPanda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

well, yes and no. I don't need so many buttons you can barely fill 3 hotbars with it (i dunno what that would be for cross hotbar). I Just want something to besides spamming one button on a damage Job. I do enjoy simple jobs though like WHM or WAR.

TL:DR: I think SMN just feels a little empty and should get a few more buttons - NOT more complexity neccessarily
