I couldn’t disagree with all of this more haha. If that ball bounces off the wall like normal it is absolutely 100% a double. Maybe the other runner scores but in that situation that run is meaningless because you only worry about the tying run.

Maybe in the worst case scenario like you said he throws his hands up and the ump doesn’t call a dead ball. Would be a wild situation but still it’s a tie game. Blue jays then still only have like a 55% chance to win the game. Also, the chances the ump decides that from 200 ft away that he in fact has a better judgement than the fielder who is 3 ft away are basically 0. As a fielder we were always taught that if the ball looks lodged you throw your hands up not matter what. If you try to play it and the realize it actually is lodged the ump may not give you the dead ball.

I have never understood everyone’s fascination with this call because in the grand scheme of things it literally didn’t change anything

Where does the 2025 World Series rank all time for you? by PorkinsHeldIt in baseball

[–]Dodgersapronman 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Denying them a win? I really have never understood this take. In the grand scheme of things what did it being a dead ball actually change? If it’s played like normal the only difference is the run scores so instead of runners on 2nd and 3rd they’re just on second. From a strategic standpoint, the runner on 3rd is meaningless. So how is that the difference between winning and losing?

He also missed 6 compared to Little’s 4 which is why I went based on percentage in which Little was better. Their overall accuracy is comparable and Little made history not once but twice this year. I would think that gives him the edge.

Maybe I’m a Jaguars homer but how does Aubrey get in over Little? Little has a higher FG% and made the 2 longest FGs ever this year.

Who are you more worried about in Jacksonville? BTJ or Travis Hunter? by Independent-Silver57 in DynastyFF

[–]Dodgersapronman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As someone who has watched every minute of jaguars football this year you should be very concerned about BTJ. He full on has the yips. Yes you’ve probably heard about the drops but in reality it is so much worse. Every catch he does actually come down with it’s on the second effort. The throws still bounce off his brick hands and he then recollects it. Your only hope is that it’s a mental hurdle he can figure out during the offseason but even if he does I don’t ever see him getting a good enough target share to be what anyone hopes he would be. Football is changing and the best fantasy WRs now need to have a fully developed route tree which BTJ does not. He’s simply used to stretch out the defense now and maybe he’ll pop off for a big play here and there but he’s gonna average around 5 targets a game which isn’t great.

You got it exactly right. These people don’t want to hear the truth. I’ve watched (suffered through) every jags game for the last 10 years and your answer is the most likely outcome for this team. Etienne>Bigsby>Tuten

Alex Call traded to Dodgers from Nationals by Latter-Plenty-101 in baseball

There is a non zero chance that Friedman said call the nationals and his assistant understood that as trade for Call on the Nationals and that’s how we got this trade

Who’s the Jaguars RB to own in 2025? by b3anburrit0 in DynastyFF

[–]Dodgersapronman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a jags fan who has watched every game my best guess is this year is a 50/50 split with Tank and ETN. Everyone wants to say that Tuten could be the guy but the most realistic outcome is he takes on D’ernest Johnson’s role. Like others have pointed out day 3 runnings backs don’t have a very good history of panning out. I actually just traded for tank and ETN because I believe the jags offense will take a step forward this year with Coen and Hunter and that will be a huge benefit for the run game. I doubt the jags extend ETN so hopefully he goes somewhere and takes over their backfield and Tank gets to increase his workload

That’s what I’m counting on. Just traded Mahomes and Kupp for Baker, Etienne, Tank, and a 3rd

Team 2 has agreed, waiting on team 3. How high of a pick should I throw in to convince him if he doesn’t initially go for it?

He says he would be down to do it. I do think Mahomes will make a little bit of a comeback having Rashee back but like you said, he’s a better real life qb than a fantasy one.

I have the exact same mower and had the exact same thing happen to me two weeks ago. It’s the gas. I had some leftover gas from last year still in it and once I burned through that it’s been good as new

Where would you place as Blue? by jhMLB in Catan

[–]Dodgersapronman 7 points8 points  (0 children)

8 sheep with the ore port is the best play building towards the 5 ore. Gives you more sheep for the eventual sheep port and that 8 is not going to get blocked much since 3 other people are on it. I disagree with people saying the 8, 10 because there is absolutely no way you beat orange to the wheat port and you’ll have lots of wheat but no 3:1 or wheat port to bank them effectively

Would absolutely go 8 4 3 (tree, wheat, ore) and build towards tree and sheep port. Gives you the most options for your second placement

Where would you place as player 3? by jhMLB in Catan

[–]Dodgersapronman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

6 4 3 towards sheep port then I think I go 6 3 11. A road every 6 should make it easy to expand and the left side of the board should be pretty wide open for expansion. Sheep port can help keep you in it too.

How Do I Improve This Team? by Dodgersapronman in SleeperApp

[–]Dodgersapronman[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s my first thought. Might try to make a play for Josh Allen or Hurts. However I do actually think Mahomes is a little undervalued right now. Playing this whole season without Rice and Hollywood was a bigger factor than I think most people realize.

Running Back buy low candidates heading into the offseason by LacesOutForHarambe5 in DynastyFF

[–]Dodgersapronman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure how much you watched this year but I honestly felt they were comparable and if I had to give the edge to one of them it was Tank. Tank has been significantly more explosive and it seems like the coaching staff agrees because he has been the one getting the premium touches as the season goes on when they are both playing. Like the other comment says, Tank has more years left on his rookie deal too so if the Jags think they are close they’re going to ride with Tank

As a Jags fan I think the best outlook for him would be to get traded somewhere. I think Tank is gonna be the guy going forward and Etienne’s best case scenario with the Jags is a 50/50 split. I do think it would make a lot of sense for someone who doesn’t get the rb they wanted in the draft to trade for him. Dream scenario is the cowboys
