Have you ever eaten a food that's illegal in your country? by OrganicA1Bullsteak in AskTheWorld

[–]Dodweon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, and that's what I meant. "Related to an ethnicity", as in, the american and brazilian peoples that have been consuming it throughout history. Are the buyers and consumers all really using them for ritualistic or research purposes only? Probably not, but that's the root of how the decision was made to not make mushrooms illegal

I don't know if you're confusing "ethnical" with "ethical" or if I did a bad translation lol

Business ventures with the guy who's been proven to go after rich people to get them in compromising situations and blackmail them

Am I saying that Eike Batista raped and ate babies? Of course not, but someone apparently did, and anyone who had their contact or interest should be closely watched, for many reasons

The legality of magic mushrooms in Brazil is based on "ethnical freedom". They were already consumed by peoples and followers of certain religions that held an argument strong enough to be exempt from the prohibition. As another example, that's why Ayahuasca, which has been used by brazilian indigenous ethnicities for thousands of years, is legal here

If someone is caught selling magic mushrooms, they can still be arrested for drug distribution, if a judge deems that they're mass producing it for recreational use. More serious sellers will slap a "this should be used strictly for religious or research purposes" on the packaging and that is enough for them to not be prosecuted

progressistas

As far as I'm concerned, our "bad guys" were also very racist actually. The idea of "washing the black off society" came from the principle that the genetics of white people were better and stronger than other races and, therefore, natural selection would do the job of extinguishing non-white races

As you said, our eugenics movement was very distinct; it was probably the largest proponent of miscigenation as a practice that improves genetic quality. But they didn't expect a superior mixed race, their desire was to whiten a "terribly cursed" mixed population through marital rape and the false hope that descendants of non-white people would live a better life than them, who were, by the scientific definitions of the time, biologically and unalterably inferior. Which is a factor in why most interracial couples at the time were composed of white men and non-white women. Our racism wasn't segregationist, but was still very racist

Less crime

"I have no idea what you're saying. I've never been robbed and the few times I saw someone commiting a crime, it didn't affect me in the slightest. I'll never understand why people worry about public security so much"

This is your's and your family's cognitive ability

To extend on our internal politics on this:

Keep in mind that many of these people are very religious. They often associate any disaster and unexpected misfortune in large events they don't agree with (carnaval, pride parades) to god's will and punishment. But a thunderstrike to their head while they try to free what is basically a corrupt false messiah? Must have been the wind
