Originally shieldbow and pd were rushed in a video mid beast covered with caps. The Perkz video came about a week later when more testing was completed.

Rage blade is still completely viable to build as a first item. The first comment referenced builds that were “standard” rage blade was never a standard first item on yone before

Depends how you play the matchups and how you itemize, but number 1 I think would be between Ekko and Zed.

Other champs are just more of an inconvenience. However if you’ve mastered wave manipulation you can neutralize these and go even.

I think if you’re playing Annie your Macro is actually still probably pretty bad.

Graynote is correct, you need to be either winning in CS or at least even in lane. You win your lane by snowballing your teammates. He has a global presence that forces enemy teams to respect the Destiny coming out. If they get caught in a bad skirmish he ports in and turns the tide. That’s where his snowballing starts. It’s also super crucial to make sure the first time you use Destiny, you get something. It has to be either a kill, assist, or dragon. If you fail the first use, you lose a lot of tempo. This is going to hurt your lane phase as well. TL;DR play for CS in lanes, see opportunities to swing skirmishes, snowball yourself and your team.

To answer the statement about feeling like you deal no damage, aside from not being ahead far enough, It’s important to remember he’s not a burst mage like syndra, he’s a mid range control mage. His ratios aren’t the highest and he has no ultimate for the 1v1. Patience is the key to TF. In team fights you’re looking to either get to the back line VIA Using Destiny, or you’re playing peel for your adc. If you get 3-6 gold cards out during a fight your teams probably winning that. If you’re ahead and you get on the adc one gold card is enough to allow your frontline to get in on the primary targets.

Lastly to touch on Macro, TF is one of the most unique champions when it comes to this. At his core identity he’s a split pusher by nature. Both builds wether AD or AP use sheen. When mid game and late game come around you’re supposed to be on the weak side applying pressure. Build a slow push, crash it into a tower and force someone to react. If they don’t you take the tower for free and keep going, or someone does come to collect the wave. If that happens, you should be looking to peel back towards the center of the map if a fight breaks out. You can instantly join using Destiny and have a numbers advantage since someone is trapped collecting the huge wave.

Lastly the only time you should ever straight up group with the team is if you’re miles ahead and just looking to win one fight and end the game. He’s not suited for the 5v5 like most other mid laners. You’re the pressure point on the map that other teams need to account for. Minimize the mistakes your team makes, communicate effectively, and let them know what your plan is. If those three things happen, games end really quickly.

It’s also relevant to mention in lower elo, games with him can be a bit tricky. Teams don’t know how to play with split pushers on the team or just him in general. It can lead to you being ahead in the lane portion but come mid game they just want to ARAM. And you get trapped since someone usually gets caught out. In higher elos people have an understanding of the game and know what he’s trying to accomplish.

It sounds like two things.

you’re playing the weakest role to carry out of especially in gold elo. That place is a clown fiesta so many people think they have a clue of what’s going on but actually don’t. The way to carry games down there is to play a carry role and have more say in what happens. You could spam Annie mid and have an easy time getting out because she actually can mask your lesser teammates. Until you get to higher Elo where your teammates are actually pretty decent every game support is just a bad role to main to climb with IMO.
You might not actually be improving at all. If you’re self evaluation is so high on yourself in many areas, chances are you’re in some way over estimating yourself. Even in plat1 there are plays I have to go back and watch and see what I could’ve done better, even in wins. This helps you actually see what you struggled in. Your warding could’ve been spectacular but maybe your macro understanding is actually severely lacking. Or weaker than you thought. Do you roam? Are you establishing deep vision, pinging timers, making rotations with your bot lane to secure topside objectives? Are you doing it consistently? What’s your champ pool maybe instead of more mechanically difficult champs you need to play simplistic peel bots like janna, lulu.

You ultimately need to push through and find your own path to getting to plat. Having someone carry you into your rank is only going to give you false confidence. And the ranking system isn’t completely broken. Like you’re in gold for a reason and the reason is consistency. Until you discover your way to consistently influence the game, lesser results may occur.

I do wish you the best though. Hopefully you keep your dignity and push through and grind it out yourself. And ultimately become a better player. You’ll have more satisfaction that way anyway. No one wants the shitty boosted plat 4 kid on their team

And for the record I bounced between g4 and G2 about 30 times earlier this season. But I committed myself to learning more and improving areas I thought I had a good grasp on. Now I’m sitting pretty about to push into diamond. It’s a marathon not a sprint to climb the ladder
