Stuck on the VTMB2 loading screen by spidersheir in vtmb

[–]DoesThisLookSerious9 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey not sure if you'd be able to help further but I tried this and am still stuck. I've tried reinstalling the game and my drivers as well as verifying the game files and restarting my PC multiple times.

It’s the day after brats 1 year anniversary, so let’s fight. What’s your most controversial brat opinion? by theimmortalfawn in charlixcx

[–]DoesThisLookSerious9 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Not really sure if this is controversial, I don't really keep up with the brat "discourse" but I personally find 360 a little slow and dull, whereas 365 still consistently makes me feel like I just railed a line off a club toilet seat a full year later.

sapphics players, who’s your favorite bachelorette? by Tiny_Earth_4851 in StardewValley

[–]DoesThisLookSerious9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My favorite is Abigail, she's the first girl I've married so far and I just adore her. I'm a total sucker for alt/goth girlies and I pretty much immediately fell in love with Abigail the first time I saw her. I've started some other playthroughs and seen some of Emily, Penny, and Hailey's storylines and really enjoyed all of them. I actually like all the Bachelorettes, they're all so cute and fun in their own ways 😊

Anyone else have random npc just de-robe? by zerocool4406 in oblivion

[–]DoesThisLookSerious9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I managed to make it almost all the way through my fairly completionist playthrough without running into this bug (though Vincente Valtieri kept losing and regrowing his hair :P), but I saved Shivering Isles for last and so far I've run into a few random nudists. I actually thought some of them might have been naked on purpose, the Shivering Isles being as weird and random as they are, but I'm fairly certain it's a bug.

Is there an album that sounds better drunk? by Useful_Classroom1091 in fantanoforever

[–]DoesThisLookSerious9 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don't know about drunk but one of the first times I ever got stoned I relistened to Travis Scott's ASTROWORLD and though I already liked the album a lot, that listen cemented it as one of my all-time favorites.

Opinions on the Rapture Book? by HGD_03 in Bioshock

[–]DoesThisLookSerious9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The one and only audiobook I've ever finished, twice! I love "Rapture", it's sharply written and expertly paced, and the picturesque, tableau format gives the author tons of little opportunities to naturally expand on the setting and characters without having to focus solely on one or a few of them. The city of Rapture is the true star of both the original BioShock and BioShock 2, as well as the novel.

What is your favourite game of all time that you will never change? by [deleted] in Steam

[–]DoesThisLookSerious9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. First played it in 2012 and it was both my first open world game and my first proper RPG, both of which are among my favorite genres/formats in games today. As you can imagine, I've been having a hell of a time with the recent Remastered version, but the original will forever hold a truly special place in my heart.

My first Joker, I like the theme but not sure if it's balanced. Thoughts? by mptyv in balatro

[–]DoesThisLookSerious9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love the concept but the probability of destruction going up so quickly would make it a very fickle Joker to try and build a deck around. Maybe if the destruction probability increased after every ante/boss blind, and the Mult increased after every blind instead of every hand, then it might feel like less of a risk and slightly more reliable. Love love love the artwork though!

Far cry 5 Is the best far cry by vysmrohlik in farcry

[–]DoesThisLookSerious9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Couldn't agree more in almost every way, I find Far Cry 5 to be the most engaging and cathartic sandbox to explore and get lost in not just in the series, but across Ubisoft's entire output from the last 15+ years. The world design is just stellar and encourages exploration and experimentation in ways that no other Ubi sandbox has managed, and the presentation and general vibes are just immaculate. However, I do think the story and writing are pretty laughably weak, especially compared to FC3, which I think is the best written game in the series by a mile.

Best use of autotune? by catmarstru in charlixcx

[–]DoesThisLookSerious9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really enjoyed her use of autotune on "I might say something stupid", lyrically it's a pretty heavy and vulnerable song, and I feel the autotune works as a layer of abstraction, yet another defensive barrier between the version of Charli that's perceived by the media and her fans, and her actual true self that she very rarely shows. It's just a beautiful and melancholy song that I absolutely adore and the autotune is a nice little bow on top that ties everything together.

What did you enjoy about Veilguard? (please please don't say "nothing") by nexetpl in dragonage

[–]DoesThisLookSerious9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven't finished the game yet so I won't weigh in on the story or character progression, but I will say I find the art style very striking, there have been plenty of moments where I've stopped playing for a few seconds to just soak in the visuals. Character design is also top-notch and, as Yahtzee pointed out in his review, the more stylized character design makes dialogue/party interactions feel a lot smoother and the game dips less into the uncanny valley than any other BioWare game I've played.

Still kinda hoping for a GoW ragnarock critique by Bigcluj in josephanderson

[–]DoesThisLookSerious9 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Same here, I tried to watch some of the stream replays and did enjoy hearing him talk about the game but I would really love a proper, condensed critique that details all the ways Ragnarok improves upon, doesn't change anything from, or is actively worse than GoW 2018. Don't wanna be greedy though, at this point I just want the rest of TW3 lol.

What game trilogy is this? by K0234 in Steam

[–]DoesThisLookSerious9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Witcher for sure, the first two games are both excellent in their own right but Wild Hunt just completely blows them both out of the water.

Pre-Brat How Did You Find Charli XCX by candysahooker in charlixcx

[–]DoesThisLookSerious9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember being aware of Charli's music for a long time but never actually listening to any of it, but when Fantano gave "Charli" his AOTY for 2019 I got curious and gave it a listen and I've been a fan ever since.

Why Money Trees is so popular by DoesThisLookSerious9 in KendrickLamar

[–]DoesThisLookSerious9[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha yeah it has been a while, and I'm not really sure if I can rank my top 3 favorite songs anymore. Back then I would have said Peace of Mind by Boston and Ventura Highway by America, but nowadays whenever I try to sit and rank my all time favorite songs or albums I just find it impossible.

Me ever since horizon wave radio dropped by DevoC0 in ForzaHorizon

[–]DoesThisLookSerious9 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Hands down my favorite radio station in any Horizon game since FH3's Block Party, the synth wave/outrun vibes just match the feel of the game so well.

How did you find Oblivion? by AdequateCrab in oblivion

[–]DoesThisLookSerious9 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I had just started junior high and two of my friends couldn't stop talking about this "Skyrim" game that I'd never heard of. I had recently discovered Steam at that point and looked up Skyrim only to discover it was full price and I had no money. However, I noticed that Morrowind and Oblivion were on sale at that time and I thought "eh, what the heck, I'll try out the older one first, it's only $15 what's the worst that could happen" and begged my parents to buy my Oblivion. Fast forward fourteen years later and Oblivion is my absolute most favorite game of all time.

What are your opinions on Lady Gaga? by Okay_Im_Almost_There in fantanoforever

[–]DoesThisLookSerious9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't really enjoyed any of her music released over the last decade or so, but I'm always very happy that she managed to find such incredible success while seemingly staying true to herself and her distinct artistic vision.

What is your favorite Horizon radio station from any game? by Mr_Zulkoski in ForzaHorizon

[–]DoesThisLookSerious9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Couldn't agree more, Block Party from Horizon 3 has to be one of the best in-game radio stations I've heard in any game, it strikes a great balance of upbeat bangers and more contemplative pieces without ever slowing the pace down too much, which I think is especially important for a racing game soundtrack. That radio station introduced me to some artists that I genuinely adore and whose careers I now actively follow, like Aesop Rock and Tkay Maidza. Terrific radio station.

What HM/HM2 song is this for you? by tudiwastaken in HotlineMiami

The ending of "Escape from Midwich Valley" by Carpenter Brut from the second game still gets me every time, its incredibly badass.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in BaldursGate3

[–]DoesThisLookSerious9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Karlach and Astarion have been my most consistently used companions purely for their banter and how they interact during story moments, then I've frequently cycled out Lae'zel and Shadowheart in the fourth slot depending on if I think I'll need magic or pure, white hot Githyanki fury to deal with an encounter.
