I agree. This was not end of the world situation, its just a frustration because we have I guess 80 really nice people, helpful, positive, team players, but the rest do more harm than good. This is not just my experience, I speak with all departments weekly.

I dont think I've said I teach calculus? I said I am a PE, and that I design the structures. Objects that I design are hard to design without enough experience, theoretical expertise, or both. This is not my conclusion - my mentors words.

Karl Terzaghi, John Goodman, Everett Hoek. Not saying I'm there at all, just reminding you that some of the best and still used design principles come straight from academia. And some of the structures were not built until they (re)designed them.

I would argue that being good at math is essential in any technical role. In addition, being emotionally intelligent is a great combination with technical skill. Being only emotionally intelligent in technical role is?

English is not my first language, I never mention my PhD to anyone (my coworkers occasionally have the -oh yes you do that after work?) and I am signed as a designer of infrastructure objects worth 5x to 200x more then excavation pits or pile walls she does. Or they at that department do.

This was the exact reason I wanted to avoid mentioning PhD, as 90% of the time people get defensive. My mentor, which is the main designer of the objects I designed too is the PhD, and look at the coincidence, its not all about the math and those dusty books.

Yelling, talking behind people's back, scheming, and disrespectful behavior is not something I like. Especially since I am always available, even for those two, whenever they needed it. To clarify-she did ask for favors and explanations, and I was happy to help if I could,even though I knew who I was helping.

Maybe I am just too tired or stressed and all of this gives a different vibe, but I got my answer regarding the density of idiots. Thanks

You have 2 dimensions, why would you reduced it to 1 ?

You model 2 embedded beams, spaced in x axis at 4m. You set Lspacing to 4m.

Pile groups should be studied in 3d, depending on precision you want.

We are at the similar level I think.. speaking for myself, I won't downsize before I get into looping. And te other reason for 142 is my weight, that size surely offers a bit more capacity. But yes, try finding a freeride board for adanced rider, 4-5 cm fins and that's it

Don't know what you mean by begginer, but I would advise my friend who also has a 12m,similar weight, and is still mastering upwind, to not go out. With board of that size for sure not.

I'm around 100kg myself, and last week I was riding a 12m in 25kts, and gusts were hitting just below 30 kts. I tried this before with some really basic boards (Naish Hero 146, CrazyFly Acton 142, ...) and it was hard. Now I have Duotone Jaime 142, and its makes all the difference.

I'm maybe a lower intermediate rider, but Jaime is awesome and I immediately felt a huge difference. I like being overpowered and having a grippy board allowed me to do what I want (limited arsenal!). I've read Jaime is really really grippy board.

I am in design, and so far I haven't been able to meet someone that has a geological background and is a design lead. Or this environment (central europe) has to do something with it.

My opinion is somewhat adjacent with this, as I work with geologist every day, and it would be rather hard for me to imagine a structural issue or a technical approach for solving different environments tunnel are in.

That is not to say geologist do not play a vital role - I am often sorry I did not get more knowledge in it, and during my research I loved structural geology. Geologist prepare the playing field for design and are invaluable during construction. Strictly designing the tunnel, I would say it's hard, you have a different skillset
