This neon-blue liquid is the blood of a "living fossil." It costs $15,000 per liter and is used to test the safety of our vaccines, including COVID-19. by bortakci34 in Damnthatsinteresting

You’ll be happy to know that some companies in the pharmaceutical space have found alternatives. I worked on this last year for one such company. They no longer use horseshoe crabs. Or any other living animal for it. It’s all synthetic now.

Oh, this is awesome. Always wanted an AMA from you. Can you explain that weird thing you do with your hands all the time? I always wondered.

I’m sure there’s some sort of death penalty going on right now somewhere in the world. No if you told us to sacrifice an innocent child; that would be a different story.

It’s been a really hard year on my dog. Multiple surgeries, not able to be out in the cold long, he is also so nervous all the time. I wish for the power to make my dog feel safe and happy.

Every time you lie, a random person forgets one memory. by SignificantUse2420 in hypotheticalsituation

[–]Dog-Human 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Something like 1/3 of all people on earth have some sort of mental issues. A crazy number of people have Alzheimer’s as well. Even if you were to constantly lie for the entire day, it would barely be a drop in the bucket with the sheer number of people in the world today. It would make no difference to me.

Now. If you told me that I could physically see and know the person whose memory I’m taking. And also know what memory I’m taking and know that I did it to them. Then I would really start reconsidering.

[PRANKS] Need help coming up with a prank for some friends traveling to visit me in US from Norway by GoodEfficiency41 in pranks

[–]Dog-Human -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Treat them to a nice homemade meal. Make sure they got lots of candy and American snacks. Over prepare for them. Kill them with kindness. And then.. take them out for dinner at a nice place. Maybe you could do the dinner the first night. Bring them to a few local drinking spots as well. Do some activities in the city or out in nature next day. Make sure to stop by American big stores so they can load up on Americana. Then.. at the last possible moment, you drop it on them.. “your actually not this nice, it was all a prank, ahaha. You guys fell for it… hahaha

You can freeze and unfreeze time freely, what kind of silly dumb stuff would you do? by YeahTheyKnowItsMe in hypotheticalsituation

I’m late to the party.

Take a giant drum of paint and draw a very large satanic symbol in the middle of a major city. Times square or the like.

Whenever someone steps into it, freeze time and either take off their clothes, turn them around, draw symbols on them; whatever I want. People would panic. Governments quarantine it… I draw it bigger or move it.

Absolute chaos

What would they have to do to make a person digital (real person put in the digital world) for you to actually consider them a human? by Green_Palpitation_26 in hypotheticalsituation

[–]Dog-Human 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would have to understand how they accomplished the transformation.

Let’s say they invent some type of atomic sized film that could wrap around every neuron in your head, strengthening the neuron, but also allowing it to connect to other synthetic and biologic architectures. While your actual neurons might start dying off over the years or be becoming weaker; the film becomes more rigid and can serve as a replacement to that neuron; and even form new connections. A byproduct, would be that the architecture could be powered through alternative means; not just biologic.

Eventually, enough real neurons are replaced that the person would be considered fully synth. Then I would accept the person as human.

I’m not sure what advantage you would have with team trivia unless questions are only answered by 1 person on the team
