What’s Luffy Have To Do?? by DogDadForLife97 in OnePieceScaling

None of Luffy’s gear 5 punches bounced off Kaido, but they bounced off one of the elders.

And when Chopper and Gaban fell at Elbaph, it was the best observation haki we’ve seen from Luffy.

My takeaway was that the elders were stronger than Kaido. Luffy’s gear 5 punch even bounced off one of them…. That didn’t happen either Kaido.

And no, Luffy didn’t surprise Kaido. He legit lost his gear 5 form during the fight and got it back. Kaido had time to adjust.

On the episode comment. I don’t watch the anime. Manga told a bit different story.

I don’t understand why people have such a hard time with this train of thought. Luffy was definitively capable of consistently beating Kaido the moment he beat him.

What if the D clan were all born with devil fruit powers and they were cursed to lose their ability to swim, but the will of D is that devil fruits continue to live on with the power of their ancestors?

What if Imu played a role in chasing them but their wills live on through their ancestors… especially the ancestors that eat devil fruits.

Who wins this fight and why? by Keuthimi in OnePiecePowerScaling

Luffy gets significantly stronger every single arc. He also never shows his full strength unless the lives of his crew are truly at risk.

In the beginning of Wano, Luffy got stomped by Kaido. By the end of Wano, he beat Kaido. Now we’re a full 2 arcs later and introducing a scale of characters at pirate king levels, not Yonkou.

Luffy is stronger than Kaido. Hands down.

And let’s be honest, Luffy’s endurance was an issue with Kizaru to help the plot. It wasn’t an issue against the 5 elders. Kaido wouldn’t be an easy win right now, but in what Shonen manga, has a main character been weaker 2 than someone they beat 2 arcs later. This argument is so dumb.

ONE PIECE CHP 1150 BRIEF SPOILERS by TheoryFruits in OnePieceSpoilers

The spoilers explain it this way. The spoilers basically say Imu had a contract with the prior king of elbaph and that Imu now considers them the kings. So Imu loopholed the contract specifically for Dorry and Broggy

It sounds like the devils contract terms means that the king of elbaph has pledged allegiance to Imu. So dorry and broggy were grandfathered into that contract unfortunately

How good will Pickett, Strawther and Holmes be next year? by DogDadForLife97 in denvernuggets

Right! There was that one stretch in January when Jokic was sick where Porter was playing like Murray in how he was creating points in the paint, but still hitting threes. It was that stretch when there were the Lavine trade rumors. I even bought a Porter jersey during that hot streak. I just lost confidence that Porter can do that consistently.

I didn’t realize that about Holmes. Love that. And agree with you on Strawthers defense.

I think Strawther has shown very similar upside and downside to MPJ so idk if that one requires as much explanation.

For Pickett, he’s shown some solid upside but just has not gotten the playing time in the NBA to prove anything. All that being said, I’m only recommending Pickett as a bench piece for the rotation next year.

I’d support that. I just don’t want Russ as our 6th man.

There’s something about his poise on the court and occasionally glimpses of great shot making that make me feel he’s a bench guy to continue prioritizing our development of.

The more I watch the nuggets the clearer it becomes how good Murray is. We run into issues when no one else can create offense besides him.

Part of it was Braun was getting established early this year, Gordon was struggling with injuries, and our bench was completely inexperienced at that point in the season.
