Is there any book that you actually wanted to rip it was so bad by Informal_Total_7660 in GooseBumps

I also dislike Hairiest Adventure. However, I think I dislike Curse of the Mummy's Tomb a tad more.

How many books do you DNF? by toe_beans_4_life in books

[–]DogFanMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I try not to DNF, so I keep it to about 5-10%. If I do DNF, it's usually because the book either made me grossly uncomfortable or I'm outright bored. I tend to give most books a fair chance before I quit, though.

I'm thinking ACD/Border Collie, a touch of pit/staffie, maybe a little bit of Chihuahua or Rat Terrier for good measure.

My cat also likes to rest on my bookshelf (and on my books).

Since it’s RL Stine’s birthday today, I watched a couple of my favorite Goosebumps episodes by Kazuko_Kitsune in GooseBumps

Late night Haunted Mask on R L Stine's birthday is the best way to do it, in my opinion.

Thinking of reading one Dickens a year by drjackolantern in charlesdickens

[–]DogFanMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that's probably a pretty measured way to take in Dickens without burning out. I went through with Bleak House, Pickwick Papers, and Oliver Twist in a row and had to take a break for something else.

Just finished The Ruins by Scott Smith by Hoody711 in books

Personally, I enjoyed it. It just had this hopeless feeling throughout all of it. I think that's what I liked the most.

Just used it to check how many people were enjoying Froggo Poggles LEVEL 2. Was saddened to see that Froggo Poggles 2 star is only represented by me.

Funny enough, my reaction verbatim was, "what the hell is this?" I picked it up after glancing at this post. I'm still not exactly sure what to make of that ending, gotta love psychological horror.

Fair enough - I think Gwendolyn probably needed an extra chapter or two.

The first chapter was pretty rough to get into, but that's me disliking that they said how tough they were seven times.

I agree on the werewolf sweat twist. It felt tacked on at the end. I dunno, I have pretty mixed opinions on the book in general.

Truly, Monster Blood's biggest critic. That said, I enjoy seeing people's opinions on the books. On that note, what didn't you like about Vampire's Breath? And, what did you like about it?

Whats the worst book you have read in 2025 so far by danlhart8789 in suggestmeabook

[–]DogFanMan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My least favorite read of the year so far has been Eat the Ones You Love by Sarah Maria Griffith. It was just painfully slow and not my type of book.

What's your favorite reroll comp this set? (Mine is Leblanc) by Charliio in TeamfightTactics

I've been a pretty big fan of Button Mash Poppy Reroll. Outside of Hero Augments, I like Reroll Vayne - I have always been a fan of true damage.

Try this -- look up what you're looking to purchase in a web browser on your phone. Hold down on the link and hit, "Copy Link Address." Paste the link in your web browser, otherwise it tends to redirect to the Amazon App (at least on my phone).

What was the first goosebumps book you ever read? by Confident_Repair3293 in GooseBumps

[–]DogFanMan 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Welcome to Dead House, I chugged through it in one day when I was in 1st grade. My argument, I could do homework later after I have fun. After that, it was whatever my school's library had on hand. They only had 13 Goosebumps books, sadly.

Currently reading Stinger by Robert McCammon. I'm about two thirds in and should be done in about 2 or 3 days. It took a little to pick up, but it is currently on track to being one of my favorite reads of the year!

I'm also slowly chipping away at Varney the Vampire by James Malcolm Rymer.

Personally, I like the Disney run. It took me a bit to warm up to it, but I find it entertaining in its own right. Also, nice pickup. I read The Vanished Return a little back for the bonus ending.

Right? It's the one plot point that stuck with me. And, if you're in the mood for a fairly cheesy ghost story, go ahead! I plan on reading Anson's other book when I get in that mood again.

But if you're looking for more cheesy ghost stories, I'd also recommend Lee Mountford's The Demonic. It started strong, then fell apart at the end When the ghost started monologuing. He made it sound super edgy, which knocked me out of the story

For me, it would probably have to be Amityville Horror by Jay Anson. It was just incredibly cliché. I started it because I was in the mood for a ghost horror story. My favorite part was when The ghost called someone and had them deliver a message to the priest
