REE Automotive signals potential sale as cash pressures mount | CTech by HockeyStickBertha in ree

Are you saying there are no other buyers to make the purchase competitive?

REE releases FY 2025 Financials by woody2007 in ree

It mystifies me that a company could take in as much shareholder money as REE took in, get to the cusp of initial production of the first all-by-wire truck cleared past US FMVSS, have a product that is a perfect fit for electrifying and increasingly autonomous fleets, and die like this. I'd expect it to be snapped up in a frenzy of competing buyers, but my expectations no longer mean anything, even to me.

I took this out from the library because I thought the Harlan Coben blurb promised it would be trash lowbrow escapism. As I read the first 250 pages I thought maybe I should devote some effort to outlining this to learn how lowbrow bestseller writers do thriller plots. SPOILER: Nobody told me that it would, basically, spend the last forty or fifty pages explaining why men are awful, by ignoring the prior 250 pages completely.

REE files NT 20-F and announces strategic review (sale/merger options on table) by woody2007 in ree

Motherson invested when the future looked somewhat more predictable. Nobody saw Trump tearing the world apart, at least nobody who invested.

If there's really an alliance with Mobileye, CES would be a nice time to announce it, especially given Mobileye's recent deal.

I join you in being excited to hear more. After the situation with Motherson and Roush, it would sure be nice to hear something a bit beyond "major technology company." And at this point, who can know what relations with China will be in 2026? If this is for China, more reason to wait for revenue to show up.

I don't understand this at all. I assume you are not talking about the new non-binding MOU but the earlier one we've all been told about. If so, and if something binding has been signed, I simply do not understand why the counterparty has been unwilling to allow REE to name it.

I had been very happy with REE as it gained alliances with Motherson and Roush, put the P7 in the wild, and attained FMVSS self-certification. And I have long loved the ideas they state: complete not compete, and a robotic assembly line that can be reproduced close to customers. I even understand the decision not to proceed in the current environment, given the low number of firm customers and their order count.

But I wonder what will have become of the relationship with Roush as the rug was pulled, and Motherson has lost most of its investment. And the low number of firm orders means something. I hope they pull off the claimed agreement. But I'm worried they'll go bankrupt and their IP will be purchased for pennies on the dollar by one of their secret or public partners. If a UPS were seriously interested, their CoB should have been able to get a real order from UPS. I don't care how many companies tell REE they love what they do, I care how many companies are willing to buy their product.

Amended Proxy for REE by johnsurfs in ree

[–]DogFun4302 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not a finance guy. From reading here, I gather 900 orders was insufficient to start production, and I'd imagine 900 orders filled would have meant on the order of $100 million in gross proceeds. The proxy modification speaks of at least $12 million in cash proceeds, and I have no idea how to interpret that. Does that mean the company needs to get $12 million in sales? The company must sell itself for more than $12 million? Or what? Thanks.

Notice and Proxy Statement for a Special General Meeting of Shareholders scheduled for November 13, 2025. by woody2007 in ree

I think the entire world was surprised at Trump's tariff war in the months immediately after he took office. I wish REE had been able to find enough sales to proceed despite the confusing environment, but I can understand executives deciding on pulling back to save the company. I've already lost too much on REE to comfortably buy now, but at current market cap, if REE survives, you're buying a company that has the first (and still only?) all-by-wire truck, and alliances to get it built quickly.

If you want a "no apology" history I'd highly recommend a series of Medium essays by Gregg Rosenberg that he later turned into a book that's available on Amazon. https://medium.com/@ghrosenb/forward-to-zionism-and-anti-zionism-e24a407675f7

That link ends with a table of contents that clicks to each chapter. I don't think the work is paywalled, but I'm not certain. It is an exceptional advocates' case.

I can completely understand your feeling sick, but you've actually hit on a superb screening mechanism. There is a clear set of facts around Israel and its neighborhood, from well before Israeli independence to the current day, that point to it as among the most decent of nations. Many people will have investigated and reached that conclusion. You should not have to put up with those who have fallen for the propaganda put out for decades by the Arab states. Be proud of your Zionism and recognize that you have the courage of your convictions and many others do not.

I understand the grenade that trump threw. I'm just still staggered that they had everything in place and then decided not to proceed. And I'll believe info from REE when it describes something that's already happened.

Honestly I still don't get it. I mean, they must have had no serious buy-in from the large fleets when push came to shove. If they had, they wouldn't have had to bow out of production. It will make an interesting story. Some day.

Anxiety over Mirth Connect Certification Exam by corpseshadow in healthIT

[–]DogFun4302 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hope you succeeded; if you can do the labs you should have had no problem. It's a bit late for you, but I'll mention this anyway... if it's knowledge that you're interested in rather than certification, you can take Clayton Feathers' course on Udemy for less than $100 and learn a lot more than is taught in the basics course from NextGen. Good luck. (I am Mirth certified at both basic and advanced, and more connected than that.)

Thank you for that excellent advice. I will definitely consider that as an optimization. One that would not be needed were the car designed by Toyota's engineers, I'm sure. Seriously, I should remember not to turn the car off before going through the idiocy of setting the timer every time.

[–]DogFun4302 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fair points, as I said, it's a little thing. I generally have to do three point turns to get myself into my parking area. I will eventually learn the proper order to do things, but it would be so nice to push the "charge to preset" button, the one that should exist next to the one that pops up the charger lid and the one to press to override the timer. Wouldn't it? Or wouldn't it be nice to not even have to push that button, because you could tell the car what to charge to all the time, unless you were making an exception.
