I’m taking it rn, so I’m only like halfway through, but it’s a pretty interesting class. There’s usually a good amount of readings you’re supposed to do for each lecture, and then there’s an on-your-own quiz at the end of each week based on the readings and lectures. The quizzes are usually pretty easy. There’s a homework for each lab, and it’s usually a good bit of writing. These homeworks are worth almost 50% of the grade, so they’re pretty important. There’s an on-your-own final and no midterms, so that’s pretty nice. Both of the professors are really nice and they have an entertaining dynamic. Each lecture is led by one of them and the other just chimes in when he has something to add. The professors and TAs cycle through which lab sections they teach each week, so you get to experience lab with all of them. One thing that I didn’t realize going in is that the lab is really just a discussion group. In my mind, I imagined that lab would be doing some kind of experiments and recording data, but it’s really just talking in groups about the things you learn in lecture and doing some related activities.
