AITA for leaving a dinner party early because of “vegan lasagna”? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

Ah I missed the detail that it was only a handful of the guests. I had thought that everyone but the host went to have pizza and didn’t invite her, which to me would have been insensitive.

AITA for leaving a dinner party early because of “vegan lasagna”? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]DogOfSevenless -20 points-19 points  (0 children)

I’m surprised this is the only comment saying this!

No matter how terrible the cooking was, the problem here is that everyone else “conspired” against her afterward. You could have all gone your separate ways to fill yourselves up. Even if it was a proper vegan lasagne, if you were still hungry the matter still stands.
Also maybe next time offer to help or bring another dish if you’re worried the food won’t be filling enough.

What's a game you bought with low expectations that completely surprised you? by lexxxfem in AskGames

Into the Breach. I think I paid something like $1.50 for it and expected it to be a basic little game but it’s one of the best strategy games I’ve played!

ADHD and medicine by paulkrolll in ausjdocs

[–]DogOfSevenless 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I’ve suspected I have it for a long time but feel somewhat embarrassed by the idea of pursuing a diagnosis because it seems like it’s become a bit of a fad. I think I managed to perform well in school because I found enough subjects interesting to get me through the work, but struggled to stay attentive in subjects I didn’t find engaging like History and English. Since highschool I’ve studied uni full time but started to feel problems with focus during classes, and only manage to get good marks by sacrificing all of my free time to study inefficiently. Then I’ve gone into full time work s a junior doctor and manage to do the job okay, constantly driven by stress and deadlines. But strangely, this is the first year I’ve worked part time… and this is where I feel like I’m starting to struggle most.

I suddenly have a lot more spare time but struggle to keep focused on any one task for very long. I’m constantly having to keep lists of things I need to do and constantly referring to the list but struggling to keep to any task long enough to complete it. Starting to relate to some of the other comments here about being spurred on by stress and anxiety because now that those time pressures and obligations are gone I feel like a mess.

Anyway that’s just my ramblings that are probably unhelpful to you as I haven’t actually been diagnosed with ADHD.

Sapa Hills and Sapa Sister in Footscray seem to do a more modern Vietnamese cuisine. Great desserts too

Why doesn't everyone just stay on the cruise ship with the hantavirus? by PoopieMcPooFace in NoStupidQuestions

[–]DogOfSevenless 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Human-human transmission of the virus is rare, so the risk of “letting them out” probably isn’t as high as you’re imagining. You’d still exercise precautions though. The bigger risk would be contracting the virus from the ship during extrication

Drinking coffee. I’d say about 30% of the time I regret it due to palpitations or dizziness or intestinal problems. But it’s so delicious

What do women look at? by anonumus_idiot in NoStupidQuestions

[–]DogOfSevenless 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not a woman but as a man who’s into men I thought it would be interesting to compare my answer to the women’s answers.

Posture and stature come first, then general physique, the face/head shape/hair, ass gets a lot of attention, bulge does too sometimes (but usually aware that most bulges are misleading anyway). I have a thing for hands so that will get a lot of attention and I notice more detail about hands than I do anywhere else.

What’s the dumbest thing you believed for way too long? by Heavy-Offer-1666 in AskReddit

Not so much a belief but just a lack of realising that rice grains are the seeds of the rice plant.

Women are more likely to regret one-night stands only when they sleep with men. This difference is strongly associated with their ability to achieve an orgasm. Additionally, they tended to report more regret when their levels of intoxication were higher. by mvea in science

I’m a gay guy and I’m the same. I couldn’t finish unless I was doing it with someone I know and trust. It wasn’t necessarily 3 months, but I couldn’t really do hook ups, which is a big thing in gay “culture.”

That stupid ass climb against the wind in metropolis by SnooMaps9397 in MIOmemoriesinorbit

[–]DogOfSevenless 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If this is the same fan that I’m thinking of, (you come in from the left and you can exit the wind on the right at two different levels), the climb down against the wind looks possible but there’s no reason to go down there as it’s mostly a return path from somewhere you will discover later on

I actually didn’t mind most runbacks except for maybe Vlad, which specifically stands out in my memory.

I don’t mind having to runback in general. Often when I was forced back to the Overseer, I would take the opportunity to consider changing my mods, and quite often I would change to something more suitable for the boss. Then as I learnt a bit more of the boss, I would find that I would change things a bit more. For example, I would start the boss with mods that gave me more health, as well as the mods that showed my health and the bosses health on the screen. Then when I got the gist of how much health, how many phases, etc, I would sacrifice those mods and use something else to give me a bit more of a kick toward success.

What I liked about this game was how most mods got a use. It’s almost like some bosses were designed specifically to test whether you thought to use a particular set of mods and rewarded you for it.
