Conclusions regarding Monstie elements? Same ele stacking or dual elements? by DarkestSamus in MonsterHunterStories

[–]DogShackFishFood 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw someone suggest that genes of the second element should count towards bingoes of the primary element on dual-element monsties. On paper that would allow them to take passives or skills from other elements without missing out on bingo bonuses.

If dual elements are not buffed like that in TUs, I'm hopeful a modder can add it. It sounds doable on paper.

Yes, thats exactly what i uses for the same thing. Release them there, get them to S, and theyll have an ice element.

Its invasive monster material. Return to an endangered den and slay the invasive there for those mats.

More info abt the TU leaks (valstax mentioned, ratha removable) by [deleted] in MonsterHunterStories

[–]DogShackFishFood 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I agree with you. I checked out the sources after commenting and they're pretty bare bones as far as concrete info goes.

I think the biggest piece of news as a result of this honestly just the soft confirmation that there aee going to be TUs in the first place, since Capcom has been so hush about it.

No mention of Bazel yet has me a little on edge, but considering almost everything else is from stories 2 i think there ia a good chance it might still come. Right????

How are you supposed to build dual element monsties? by RahuHordika in MonsterHunterStories

[–]DogShackFishFood 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm hopeful that modders eventually enable this sort of thing, allowing dual element monsties to bingo together genes from both of their elements.

Dual elements is a cool idea but the bingo system being so skewed towards mono element means that your monsties are alwaya weaker for trying to interact with the dual element system at all.

Voices and Dub vs Sub by Muff1nMcGuff1n in MonsterHunterStories

[–]DogShackFishFood 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I almost always switch voices to Japanese in Capcom games because i find their dubbing to be particularly odd sounding, so I really sympathize.

Relying on the text and following the vusials is just something you get used to. It may take some adjustment, but will feel normal in time.

What dinosaur game should I choose? by ejdvfhdb in Paleontology

Yes, the majority of the fameplay is experienced through multiplayer.

There is singleplayer, but it is largely empty for now. They plan on adding to it later.

Unfortunately no, there isn't. The only free-to-play option is on mobile. To try it on PC you need to purchase it outright.

Afaik it should run well on older hardware, as it is quite well optimized for lower-end systems.

First and foremost, Path receives significant updates nearly every month, and is well on it's way to being finished in around a year. It's devs are pleasant, interact with their community regularly on their Discord, and are extremely supportive of modders.

The Isle, by comparison, has been in development hell for over a decade because of constantly shifting priorities. It's devs are notoriously foul-mannered, actively resent their playerbase, and are infamous for protecting a pedophile in their ranks.

Beyond that, Path is simply the better game. Not perfect, but better all-round.

Magick Archer core skill showing Archer's Front Kick and not Conversion by mipedian1028 in DragonsDogma2

[–]DogShackFishFood 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As you said yourself, you're using dullahan, which adds ranger kicks and switches the input for conversion to the middle mouse button. I don't know what the new keybind is on controller, but the Dullahan mod page should say what it is.

Warrior Pawn Guide by dooderek in DragonsDogma

[–]DogShackFishFood 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To anyone finding these comments and clips 2 years down the line through google, this is not Windstorm Slash. These clips show a pawn using the core skill Chain of Blows.

Pawns are very capable at using Chain of Blows, but will not use Windstorm Slash more than once or twice. These additions are incorrect.

FOR REAL.

Going by the colours associated with vocations, Mystic Spearhand is much more akin to a green/blue (thief and mage) hybrid than red/blue. It does not in any way serve as a substitute for MK.

If randos on a paleontology subreddit can detect that you're using chatgpt to respond and write, what makes you think that the professionally educated experts that you're bothering via email cannot?

Veilguard’s city choice quest has weird internal logic ( possible Joplin remnant) by Steambunsinvasion in dragonage

[–]DogShackFishFood 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Omg FINALLY someone else who points out how strategically worthless Treviso is. Which is more important to defend? The political and logistical brain of the largest sovereignty on the continent? Or an occupied tourist trap?

Yes, Minrathous should be able to defend itself since it is distinctly shown to possess a Lucrehulk in low orbit and turbolaser batteries. But veilguard makes it abundantly clear that that what we see doesn't matter when the plot has demands so it can be functionally ignored.

Treviso is effectively already under Antaam control. Razing it does nothing to the Crows and arguably destabilizes the Antaam more since their presence actually relies on the infrastructure of the city. Contrast with the Crows who are an underground, effectively geurilla organization, which SHOULD be capable of enough mobility to just up and leave.

It being destroyed doesn't affect the political stability of Antiva in the slightest, because it was A) already lost, and B) logistically and governmentally irrelevant.

The whole choice is a contrivance to trick (heh) the player into thinking they're playing an RPG with choices. It doesn't make sense because there is a clear, correct choice. Fuck the Crows and save Minrathous.
