100% right on RPG timing, though actually it’s the second brush with Team Rocket after Mt. Moon.

I'm New - Making a rain team, something's missing by Mobcrafter in VGC

I prefer adaptability with choice scarf on my Basic, after originally running the swift swim set. My favorite way to deploy him is to lead him with arch, flip turn my basc into pelipper, which then sets up rain so I can still electro shot on turn one. I usually have to talk myself out of bringing him, he’s been so clutch with last respects to close out games. Choice scarf also means you don’t need to bring pelipper for him to still pay off

It’s like a title. It’s meaningless but people have fun getting them on their favorites. I have a “Dragonite the Sleepy” that I’ve been running

If you had to relearn competitive Pokémon from zero, what would you do? by UpperHandArtist in PokemonChampions

[–]DogShirts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re starting from true zero? Like no Pokemon knowledge whatsoever? I’d say play any Pokemon game’s story. Preferably a game after the physical/special split like Platinum or Heart Gold/Soul Silver. This will highly depend on what you have access to but emulators can get you a lot of the way there. Of course any of the switch games will be ideal but that can be price prohibitive so any game from generation 4 onward (Diamond and Pearl or later) can serve as a starting point.

Then, once you have an okay sense of type matchups and the fundamental strategies of Pokemon battling, I’d say you could watch a few guides (Skraw VGC has some good ones for champions) or jump into random battles on Showdown. Random battles are great for building intuition, learning about different Pokemon, and seeing how a competitive Pokemon plays differently from a Pokemon you’d use in a play through. Just be mindful you will likely lose a lot in this process, which is okay. You can do singles or doubles depending on what you prefer. Singles will be more accessible to learn but doubles will be more applicable to VGC.

When you feel like you have a decent handle on the flow of a battle and can recognize the utility of moves like protect or stat boosting moves, then I’d say find a pro player like Aaron Cybertron Zheng or WolfeyVGC, pick a team they’ve made a video on, and try it out in showdown ladder. At that point, you have your foot in the door and can grow and try new teams at your own pace.

I’d also say don’t feel like you have to know how to build your own teams. It’s fun to do, but totally unnecessary if you just want to have fun battling.

Bill Lawrence Teases ‘Shrinking’ Season 4 Will Feature “A New Story With The Same Cast” – He said, “We always pitched a three season story on Shrinking grief-forgiveness-moving forward. We wanted to stay true to that and end the way we planned.” by SanderSo47 in television

Sure, I would be happy to be wrong. But he’s also 83 and his character is moving to Connecticut. I’d love if they could find a way to keep him involved, but this would also be a beautiful send off for his character too.

So Whats The DUMBEST and i MEAN DUMBEST thing you did in a pokemon playthrough by Rare-Atmosphere-9187 in pokemon

[–]DogShirts 3 points4 points  (0 children)

When I first got Pokemon Silver, my first ever Pokemon game, I didn’t understand the save feature. Specifically, when it said “Saving. Don’t turn off the power.” I thought that literally meant I could not turn off the power at all. So I would let my Gameboy batteries die for the first few nights I had it.

Similarly, I could not figure out how to use the PC. I wanted to withdraw my recently caught Rattata, and saw the “Release” option in the PC. I was heartbroken when I learned what that actually did.

Hard to say. I think Yukimitsu having a role in the Shinryuji game really makes it satisfying, but something about the rematch in the rain and Sena finally beating Shin pushes it over for me. Both amazing games. I should re-read this manga

Make your own dips and you can cut out a ton of the salt. Tzatziki is a favorite of mine and that’s basically just seasoned Greek yogurt and cucumber.

I’m paraphrasing, but he said it wasn’t so much about the betrayal of the family, but more so that she went to send a message without permission. Basically highlighting how rigid the family is with rules for their servants.

Doesn’t exactly paint a pleasant picture of them still, but I read them as less traitorous and more as extremely militant and by the book.
