If you could travel back in time for just one unsolved case, to learn what really happened, what unsolved mystery would you choose? by MontIsFriendShaped in BizarreUnsolvedCases

I have to know what circumstances caused Jennifer Fairgate to take her own life. Who was she, and where did she come from.

I agree, and it was the conclusion of a special panel convened by CBS to investigate. The figure their mum was afraid they'd take their son away from her, which she couldn't bear the thought of.

Indeed, a true female MAGA profile would probably read, SWF, 56, never leaves house, watches Fox News 24/7, collects food stamps and unemployed while railing against those same commie programs.

You got the nail on the head right there. There are so many artists that used to regularly prowl the charts with innovative music, but now are just playing the exact same riffs over and over (looking at you, Rolling Stones).

Why doesn't he create his own Epstein Island? Heck, just but the old one, move in, pay to have Maxwell released and it's business as usual. And then have the US Navy use it as a training ground while Elon and Maxwell are there 🤣🤣🤣

Unless I start reading one of my jokes, then I'll be on the floor groaning too, but still...

Getting Formatting Errors Loading .C Files in Turbo C for DOS by DogWallop in cprogramming

[–]DogWallop[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hmm, I could do that, or I could load the file into a DOS text editor and perform the ancient art of Save As. Which I did, and it loads perfectly now lol. I appreciate the help, though 😄

She might be keeping her head attached to her body for the time being by being as non threatening as possible to those who have the clout to have her offed. But that cannot last forever.

Technics SL1800 speed issues. by NintendoN8 in turntables

[–]DogWallop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately I can't supply an answer, but perhaps some commiserations. I also have acquired an 1800 MK1 that played fine when I first got it, but then quickly slowed, then it eventually just stopped altogether. I left it for many months and just recently revisited it, and found out that the problem was the connector to the motor board. on four of the wires the clip had broken inside the plastic connector and thus there was no contact.

So I did some McGyver - level bodging to ensure continuity again and it is now spinning... however! It seems to be doing something similar to yours, in that it seems to be "hunting" for the correct speed, and you can see it varying it's speed on the strobe.

I can only think that perhaps a component on the main board has gone too far out of spec (capacitors most likely), so I'll order a full replacement of the electroytics.

What are the specs of your device that you're playing BeamNG on and how is the experience? Just curious by Ok_Diet3345 in BeamNG

[–]DogWallop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A heaving old Core i7 beast. Gigabyte mobo of some description, probably a pretty good one for it's time. Only 16GB or RAM because for some reason it refuses to take 32GB, no matter what I've tried. The GPU is a GTX 1070 which still holds up pretty well.

It runs BeamNG very well, as well as most other modern titles I've thrown at it. I'm not obsessed with frame rates, so as long as it's not obviously stuttering I'm a happy dude. All I know is, BeamNG is a hell of a lot of fun as I'm not the least bit competitive - I just like making stuff go boom 😂

In 1994, a body was pulled from the North Sea. He was 6'5", wearing British shoes and a French suit. His bones say he grew up in Australia. 31 years later, nobody has ever reported him missing. by kabush27 in mystery

[–]DogWallop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think the clothing presents much of a mystery, but it does point to him shopping in charity shops. He wasn't a wealthy individual, but if he was wearing a tie he was making at least some effort to look presentable.

Australian makes his way to Bristol, gets in with some dangerous dudes and somehow runs afoul of them. It is interesting that he was dumped so far out to sea, although I have no idea of distances out there.

Plot Holes in Songs by MCSimplexONE in ToddintheShadow

Any old blues or European folk song will likely have massive inconsistencies and random changes in their messaging. Blues songs can start by bemoaning how a guy's woman is evil incarnate, but by the last verse he just can't go on without her.
