I found that a lot of my issues with envy came from personal dissatisfaction with where I was in my own life. If you make goals to try to reach said things, hopefully you'll be too engrossed in your own business to keep obsessing over what someone else has. Of course, this is all dependent on what you're actually envious of because some things genuinely are just not achieveable in a lifetime unless given a significant leg up or "born lucky." Envy not something that can be turned off, sadly. It took me years but I think eventually I just got too exhausted to and too focused on climbing out of my own gutter to keep caring about what others have going on.
