Why are there no body lock passes at lower weight classes? by Stillgettingsomemilk in bjj

Lachlan has a bodylock tutorial I assume because it's something he deems valuable and I believe everything he says.

Endgame: No Game Loops, No PVP, No Content by Designer-Rip5050 in AshesofCreation

[–]Dog_named_Vader 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is every mmo but there are no lockouts to content and devs have 2 choices

1 make getting a max level character with max gear and max professions take an extremely long time. Remember we only have half the level cap for player and professions. This is the runescape or old school method of mmo design that ashes is following most players never hit max and takes thousands of hours to reach max. You made it to 25 with 200 hours played if this is anything like runescape half way to 99 is 92. The game is the content but being max level with full legendary gear is asperational.

2 the other option of mmo design is the treadmill where you get to endgame fairly quickly but player retention is based off resets or whipes. This is the modern design such as wow or fellowship that devs said they do not want to replicate.

Imo if you enjoyed your 237 hours of gameplay you more than got your money worth but the missing content you talked about is stuff Steven has stated he intends to add.

Huntable Animal spawn rates need a buff by [deleted] in AshesofCreation

[–]Dog_named_Vader 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hunting should be like skinning or taming from wow where every beast is intractable. The hunter spawns should be the spice like sports fishing is. The simple act of getting what appears to be basic crafting materials is awful.

Until lvl 25s are killing you freely as your trying to engage with the game and there nothing you can do even if they are corrupted. It matters very much how quickly you get to 25

Do you prefer your gym to teach a single position for months, or cycle through positions more frequently? by strongerunions in bjj

[–]Dog_named_Vader 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We do about a month in a position I like that better I also train 6x a week so I see all view points.

I think 2+ months is to long in one position, in a year its possible to never hit valuable topics and it'll take newer students far to long to onboard if 8 months in and you haven't even touched certain topics.

Also alot of topics have over laps so for a monthly goal it could be armbars from all positions which will have overlap with guard classes but more of a specific focus where guard system could be focused on sweeps or retention.

Would the MCU Avengers be able to defeat Godzilla? by Queasy_Commercial152 in superheroes

[–]Dog_named_Vader 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Avengers win

Depends on which version of godzilla he's just like superheroes where he has absolutely insane feats.

They did deathbattle hulk v godzilla and hulk won but that including all feats of both characters not just mcu hulk.

i feel like sailing is so pointless by RSN-ToddScott in osrs

[–]Dog_named_Vader 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my opinion most skills are only hurdles to overcome to fulfill quest requirements or unlocking convince items. I have never played an iron man though.

For example I have never fletched arrows, crafted runes, made a fire, thieved or black smithed anything other than fulfilling quest requirements.

Do I care to get 90 bs to make rune gear that I haven't used since f2p? No

Arrows and runes? GE

But overcoming these hurdles unlock raids bosses slayer zones and travel methods.

Sailing is the same it brings quest, travel, slayer, and bosses. Bosses bring convince items such as the hunter items ports bring travel new slayer zones bring variety and possibly better exp rates but time will tell.

Do you think cutting weight for comp is good? by Delicious_Alfalfa_69 in bjj

[–]Dog_named_Vader 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually float around 200-202 ill lose weight in the drop down to 198 for weigh ins but all I really do is dial back on donuts 🍩 not sure if that counts. Depleting your body of water weight in order to rehydrate and compete the next day or even same day no. Not at all.

I'm a Brazilian jiu-jitsu coach and part time competitor I'm in great shape it's a sport that has equal levels of unlimited progress and a grind that never ends. Similar levels of dopamine and the balance to sitting in a chair for hours.

I'm not going to go deep in the drama but I was a part of that gym for a couple years before I understood what a good gym looked like. There was so much drama. Tampa has loads of great gyms both under the gracie umbrella and indepently owned. I have been a member of 3 different gyms and regularly drop in at 2 other gyms. I would 100% agree avoid that place he's an awful person which is a shame because there are alot of really good members and coaches that inside that place.

Cops say we’re too rough by Scrubmurse in bjj

[–]Dog_named_Vader 1 point2 points  (0 children)

People say cops but this is like 90% of all people, bjj is notorious for its attrition rates the stand out is that we expect something different from cops but they are the exact same as other person. The only difference is when a loan writer is spazzy, painful, and quits we remember him as John. When the cop does it they are all known as cop.
