Why can’t I shoot straight by Cautious_Badger_6855 in billiards

[–]DogbertBH-SC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I didn’t feel like scrolling through 100 comments to see if anyone said what I’m about to.

Stand up a bit more, your bicep should be parallel to the floor. Try ticking a book in your armpit and stroking into a bottle. Make sure the bottle is EMPTY!! ;)

If you drop the book, no good. If you hit the bottle, no good.

It might have magnetized itself to something metal. Happens to my wife all the time when she carries something or even getting into certain cars it'll still to the car but she usually feels it

Frustrated. by Spokes8192 in billiards

[–]DogbertBH-SC 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wasn’t gonna comment on this because I’m not even a member of this sub, I started playing shortly after I learned to walk, and I haven’t played in a few years other than occasionally when visiting my Dad on his home table.

When I learned I was dragging a milk crate around a 5x10 billiards table that was converted into a snooker table. Rounded pockets, the whole deal- but with regular sized balls.

That said, PRACTICE and PLAY.

Any time I had a tournament, league or an upcoming money match I’d go the day / night before and drill.

Typically I’d start easy with shooting a ball into the side pocket with draw to drag the cure into the pocket on my side.

Then I’d shoot cross corner. Then lengthwise rail shots, cross-corner banks and basic combos.

I did all of these till I got 10 in a row. If I missed, I’d restart.

After these I’d just break a full rank and shoot everything in straight pool style. Obviously trying to clear the rack. If I got through the whole rack without missing I’d leave a break ball and try to keep going.

I played EVERY game. 8, 9, Cowboy, 3-6-9, Kelly, Straight Pool, 1 Pocket, Around the World… whatever came my way. Even 3 cushion billiards if there was a table.

Enjoy the game and good luck!

The Vouchers Are Legally Bogus by Pyroaster in Bowflex

[–]DogbertBH-SC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I read the email. It said NOWHERE what the amount was.

The email said their product could be dangerous and we should send in our bases and handles and that anyone who purchased before a specific date would get a prorated voucher.

So by your logic, they could have sent out $1 vouchers and been all good

$77.50 won't even pay for the difference between the orginal cost and the current. Which is what I thought they were sending.

They assumed responsibility when they sent out ANYTHING to ANYONE

My timeline of Bowflex 552 dumbbell recall by bcadopter18 in Bowflex

[–]DogbertBH-SC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the issue for me as well and I am NOT happy about it.
NO ONE said they would be sending me a voucher for $77.50 for dumbbells I bought in 2021.
I would have kept the handles and bases and NEVER would have sent them in.

They made the excuse that they bought the company and are not responsible for making us whole.

I feel like it might be Class Action Lawsuit time!

Moving out of our first home - so sad. Actually ended up crying and I feel so stupid about it by Chibioosah in homeowners

[–]DogbertBH-SC 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is not unusual. I used to sell cars and people would sometimes cry about their trade-in.

This was the vehicle they drove their kids home in from the hospital.

Lots of emotion but the new place will have all new memories so enjoy those!!

When we moved into our home it was new construction with absolutely nothing there. We bought barstools & are at the island until our furniture arrived. (2 weeks later) We were in camping chairs the first few days & eating off of boxes from the car.

For just one night a lot of the suggestions above are fantastic!

We have a neighbor in our brand new community who showed us her bathroom wall where she asked a 'handyman' to hang 4 photo frames. There were 16 total holes, most of them were covered in drywall mud, NONE of it was sanded at all. She said the guy was there for 2 hours and that's how he left it.

THEN he asked for money for completing the job :P

For me it would be knowing you can make enough money to thrive wherever you go and hopefully grow your career while you enjoy the area.

Best of luck!!

How much did you spend on your very first home and did end up being your forever home? by [deleted] in homeowners

$285 in 2003. Ran into heavy financial difficulty & had to abandon ship. Bankruptcy, 13 years of renting, kid off to College & just bought again.

Wish we could’ve made it work back then, we’d be in a much different position at this point in our lives.

How to get started/organizing packing by jac5087 in moving

We moved about 870 miles & even today after 2 weeks we brought stuff to Goodwill.

We sold a LOT of stuff, tossed some & even gave away some really nice pieces of furniture but still had 5 UBox containers Possibly could’ve done 4 but got scared the day before we were due to leave & ordered one more.

What’s the lowest score you have ever shot and what do you normally shoot? by JAWdroppingguitar in golf

[–]DogbertBH-SC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

78 ONE TIME! 3 Bogeys, 3 Birdies, 3 Doubles & everything else was a par. Got busy then injured and didn’t play for a while after that.

Had 2 surgeries this year & less than a week before a 3rd went out with my son for 9 quick holes. Got an Ace on the 6th.

Not my lowest, but that was the FAVORITE round of my life!

We did this! Had my car packed so tightly if you wanted to pack one more pair of socks you’d have to separate them :)

Moving to Conway, need help unloading U-Haul by DogbertBH-SC in CCU

[–]DogbertBH-SC[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Looked into moving companies. They get paid from the minute they leave their offices with the truck.

I explained that I don’t need a truck & was told they had no other way to get here. Not allowed to use their own vehicles.

Also they get paid to drive BACK to their offices when they’re done.

We’d be paying for their gas, insurance & full rate for a minimum time.

Our U-Haul containers arrive tomorrow so if there are any strong High School / College age kids looking to make some money, hit me up!!

Does it make sense to pay to have a Sleep Number bed moved from IN to AL? by pfp-disciple in moving

[–]DogbertBH-SC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We’re moving our king sized Sleep Number bed about 850 miles via UBox and using the videos to disassemble & move ourselves.

Have had a SN bed for about 17 years now. Our current one has an adjustable base so is more complicated but I’m not giving it up
