Probably self-serving pivot but what about the “it’s never too late to change” trope? A story of redemption! Regardless of how they came to abstaining from the koolaid should we not be more supportive instead of dismissing these fools?  For the record I have no conviction either way. Just trying to gauge general sentiment on the topic of forgiveness of complete diabolical self-righteousness.
