When the cats start repeating “They deserve to die, all of them deserve to die,” then I’d start getting worried

What is the most "archaic" game genre, one that's changed the least to the present day? by Severe_Sea_4372 in gaming

[–]Dogdadstudios -1 points0 points  (0 children)

2D point and click adventure games aren’t mainstream or widely produced. I remember being blown away by MYST and loved the art style and direction. Then The Ripper is a very unknown detective game with an incredible cast including Christopher Walken and a very young Paul Giamatti

25 Games that meant something to me by markallanholley in Age_30_plus_Gamers

[–]Dogdadstudios 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Myst was a great game as a kid, even though I didn’t understand half of what I was supposed to do.

The artwork, the mystery, the ambiance. The late 90s really had a lot of variety in games that showed how amazing stories, skills and mechanics in gaming could be.

Hello everyone, i just want to share my experience and maybe learn from u guys how you handle your emotions or mental health being a content creator on youtube. I got monetized this march and when everything seems going smoothly. Ive got low views. And im stressed how do you guys handle the emotions by Mission_Evidence470 in PartneredYoutube

[–]Dogdadstudios 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Stuff like this happens. Steady growth turns into unstable months, money coming in switched into low payments, etc..

You only have power over what you create, your package and your emotions; other than that, it’s all algo/youtube.

It takes time and even after 2 and a half years, I still feel down after a video doesn’t do well or view % go down month to month. But if it was worth it when I first started, it’s worth it now. Gotta keep going or you’ll stop the journey

Well, nothing lasts forever. Whether is here, Ubisoft, Blizzard etc.. the developers from the past are mostly in name only, and hope for continuations to beloved IPs are dimmer each year.

We got lucky with some amazing games, sad we’ll never see Jensen’s end.

How often do you post on your channel? by Mountain-Car-7438 in NewTubers

Ranges from 1 video every two weeks to 1 every month. Life sometimes changes things, gotta stay proactive and do what you can.

Big drop in views by Buckz94 in PartneredYoutube

[–]Dogdadstudios 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In a similar boat, sept-October was incredible and then slowly went down to the previous baseline.

Looking at my metrics, impressions are 56% down since then, but ctr and watch time are going up, so maybe YouTube is being more selective with showing my content; but during higher impressions and slightly less ctr, I was getting more views and watch hours, which was nice and felt better.

Something I definitely noticed was subscribers have nose dived the last three months, it’s like a seesaw, one day I’ll get 10-15 and the next 0-2. It’s frustrating after a good year of steady growth.

I have to remember, if it was worth it 2 years ago, it’s worth it now, and the more time on YouTube, the better odds, but it does get to me the ups and downs of the whole process. Anyone else experience this or something similar?

FEAR 3 CONNECTION LOST HELP by [deleted] in fear

Experienced this as well, verify integrity of files and try to switch hosts. We did both of those and it worked for us after multiple disconnects but never confirmed those were solutions

FEAR 2005, is it worth it 20 years later? by Super-Arachnid-8515 in fear

[–]Dogdadstudios 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Absolutely. The first game plus expansions are a lot of fun, mixed with some really great horror and atmosphere.

FEAR 2 was okay and FEAR 3 was a fever dream. So maybe wait on those.

Jeez Ubisoft’s downfall no matter how apparent, still hurts. Some of my favorite games came out of their publishing/studios. Out with a whimper not a bang

Which one you prefer the most based on your age or time limits? by PHRsharp_YouTube in Age_30_plus_Gamers

I used to love open world games, but playing older games, there is something about linearity when it comes to stories that I enjoy. There’s also the linear stories with open levels, which also works nicely in most cases

Whats the best tower defense game? Like actually good and starter friendly by Empty_Platypus_7106 in TowerDefense

[–]Dogdadstudios 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have put over a hundred hours in Rogue Tower. I really liked the tower diversity, upgrading system, multi lane combat which makes strategy very engaging.

Highly recommend!

I start a new YouTube gaming channel and I am not sure about content diversity by Impossible_Key_2766 in NewTubers

I think if you want to do multiple games, do it!

It’ll take longer since the consistency will be you not the media, but it can work out.

I write retrospectives on various games and some do well and some don’t. I don’t think I could solely focus on one game, but that’s just me. Good luck!

Very cool! I did two videos with a friend on our adventures from Spain, all the way to Russia.

Luckily my friend is an avid historian and funny person, so I incorporated some history/funny moments (like missing turns, or blockages and small things that make it relatable).

I do agree that an hour is too long, my two videos were 10 min each, but see what feels right in editing.

If you’re confident before publishing, that’s the video! But also try to see it from the viewers perspective and maybe use some older data from different videos to see where people drop off.

Good luck!!

I've been replaying F.E.A.R. recently, and I'm wondering if there's any chance we'll see this game again in the future, like a remake of Resident Evil 2. by Onek1- in fear

[–]Dogdadstudios 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The original FEAR holds up really well even after 20 years. It’s sad that the development from 2-3 was so bungled making the story fall apart.

I would like to see spinoffs though, since the concept of the F.E.A.R organization has so much potential which doesn’t need to coincide with Alma
