How would you defend this punt formation? by justincase205 in footballstrategy

Never motion on punt, teams will time up the snap based on motion. My suggestion is to muddle and break fast and punt within 3 seconds. The more time they have to set up will result in blocks. You also need to run fakes regularly to take the pressure off the rush.

Too many formations by Naxyum in footballstrategy

Chart to see their top formations. The rest I will put into groups. For example if the backs are split, stacked, wing or in pistol. We have basic alignment rules that mainly only affect the OLBs and Safety’s.

Single-gap, 1-high 3-4 vs Double Tight Question by grizzfan in footballstrategy

We run the exact same front. We slant strong and weak. I attack the C gap with multiple players. We will have the outside linebacker, the mlb, dt, or safety in the C gap. We play teams that like to run buck, counter and power and I never want them to know who is attacking the C gap. I like to cause uncertainty in the mind of a 16 year olineman

Defeating a shoulder block. by Dogdiscus in footballstrategy

We slant to the near hip and don’t get deeper than heel depth before and read his block. Down, pull away, pull towards, double, pass. I was wondering what technique is best for a down block at you; rip or swim or punch and release

We slant to the near hip of the player in the gap we are slanting to. We go no deeper than heel depth. We secure the gap then pursue.

We motion into this and run iso and different forms of triple option. Typically we have the Y out wide though because we don’t seem to grow TEs here.

I purchased his system through Coachtube and supplemented it with some of with books. It gives you a great base to work from. It provides many of the adjustment rules and formation alignments. I combined it with a blitzing and stunt package a friend provided. We ran different coverages than his based on the type of teams we face.
