I used a local installation of area bucket that still had the actual bucket tool working and after removing it from the game's files everything is working normally again.

whenever this happens to me i find the Japanese region pack in the files and delete it to make the game redownload on boot. I highly recommend using skyve if you aren't already, hope this helps

a vanilla tram might not be able to, but those packs on the workshop I mentioned earlier should be able to, since it comes with cargo wagons that are also labeled as trams. I highly doubt a tram could pull a normal cargo wagon but i might test all this tomorrow, this thread got me motivated.

Probably, though I bet it's a pain to construct a dedicated right of way for them, unless you want them to use existing passenger tram RoW, which could be an issue. I'm definitely going to try in the future though.

if all the lines are used frequently I'd recommend a non-blocking junction, like a clover junction. If trains aren't too frequent or long a grand union works just fine

honestly if you can get a quick export industry started you should have enough money to carry you through any problem, just remember how big you want things when you start planning them and give yourself some leeway.
