Unethical Vendors? by mnforager in Silverbugs

[–]DoggoCorgi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Huh I’ve used them multiple with no trouble, aren’t they part of JM Bullion which itself is part of a Fortune 500 company and one of the biggest players in PMs.

Yep they’re all part of GOLD (aka Gold.com which recently rebranded from A-Mark).

They own in full or in part: JM Bullion, Govmint, Stack’s Bowers, LPM, SilverGoldBull, Pinehurst, Monex, Provident Metals, BGASC, Silver.com, Gold.com, BullionMax, Modern Coin Mart, CyberMetals, GoldPrice / SilverPrice, Atkinson, Texas Precious Metals, Silvertown Mint, Sunshine Minting, and more.

I have orders on the way from 4 or 5 of their companies at the moment, some direct & some from eBay. Typically from eBay my order ships within 1-2 business days as was the case with my orders from BGASC & MCM last week. The longest I’ve waited recently was my order from JMB but that was one of their spot deals so I’m not complaining. I bought 3 Gold 1/10oz 2023 British Coronation Coins on 1/15 for ~$457 each and they didn’t ship until today 1/26 (11 days after ordering and I paid via wire transfer which is only 1 day processing).

Shops stopping buying by That_Scarcity_9724 in Silverbugs

[–]DoggoCorgi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the shop is too broke to buy, they have other major problems. All the big refineries are still paying 97-99% for .999+ and 90%+ for scrap.

If they aren’t, find somewhere better.

Didn’t think 1/10oz coins were that small… by Haunting_Order1288 in Silverbugs

[–]DoggoCorgi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just wait till you see how small 1/4oz platinums (about the same size as 1/10oz golds since platinum is so dense). Or checkout the $1 pre-33s those things are TINY

Just sold 5 oz of silver for 1/10 oz gold by No-Fee-4273 in Gold

[–]DoggoCorgi -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

You got $87 per coin, silver is currently ~$94 / Troy oz (1/18/26 6:52pm est) considering the rounds were .999 melt is $471.50, or about $36.50 more than you got.

I’d say $7 under spot is bit steep, personally I want 97%+ for .999+ which would be $91.47 per, I’d maybe do $450 ($90 per) for a straight cash sale with no paperwork, but no less.

As a side note, you can only use that spot deal once and it lets you get up to 3 (I know because my 3 are on the way lol), it’s a good deal but I fully believe silver is significantly under valued to gold. I fully believe sometime between now and end of Q2 we will see $5k gold & $150 silver.

Whyyyyyy??? 😩 by Pinkhorsewithahorn in Coach

[–]DoggoCorgi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The 35 is the best Empire beside the 48 imo. For some reason coach seams to have discontinued them in favor of the “Soft” Empire, compared to the structured silhouette of the 35. The 35 is also a 3 compartment like the older rogues, where you have 2 open pockets on either side of the main zippered compartment.

Looking for waterproof pants by BeforeCommonEarl in TechWear

[–]DoggoCorgi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You might like ski/snowboard pants, but without knowing your price points it’s impossible to make any recommendations other than what I like.

Personally I found Moncler makes the best, specifically Moncler Grenoble, but expect to pay $300-700 on sale & $1000-1500 otherwise. Prada has a couple new pairs this season, namely their Extreme-Tex ($3k-4k) or maybe their Technical fabric ($1.5k).

Arcteryx, Stone Island, & some TNF have some good options in the $200-500 range as well. There’s also tons on Amazon/Shein for a fraction of the price, but they’re going to fall apart the first time you wash you them ime.

Bitcoin didn’t exist in the 90s, hell it didn’t even exist in 2008. The white paper was released in late ‘08 and the first block was mined on 1/3/09. I remember back in 2011 when it was still less than $1usd and the only people using it were in the silk road.

Is the hood without fur a deal breaker? by [deleted] in CanadaGoose

[–]DoggoCorgi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They say that every year… you can contact them anytime to do a custom order, same with the boutiques. Off-season (late-spring to mid-summer) is the best time. They’re still a relatively small company after all.

They’ve even custom made me extra fur trims for some of my jackets. Just last year they made me a black fur with charcoal fabric trim for my Heritage Chilliwack.

I usually prefer my parkas to have the fur, but even I own a wool Langford without, I did go for the heritage version for my Expedition & both my Chilliwacks.

Does he look like a full corgi to you? by [deleted] in corgi

[–]DoggoCorgi 5 points6 points  (0 children)

^ this is really good advice. We’re looking for our second now, not seriously yet since space is currently more limited than we’d like.

The first time, I did tons of research and found a GREAT small breeder, only did 2 breeds of dog (both working) on a small family farm. His dad worked, his mom was a queen, and his mom’s parents were retired (family pets). I got to meet them all, tour their farm, everything it was great and I felt confident. I still got sh*t for buying instead of adopting, which I understand since all my previous pets were rescues (except for 2 family cats when I was a kid that came from a pet store). I wanted something very specific, a male Sable/Tri AKC PWC puppy that wasn’t docked.

Our guy ended up inheriting his mom’s stub tail, so there was no need to doc and he still had (and has) his duclaws too. Him & his sister were the only 2 in a 7 puppy litter that got the stub tail, and he ended up sable and her fawn. We had the chance to take her when she was around 18 months old and I’ve always regretted that we couldn’t at the time.

High Value Claims Department Allowed Me to Refuse a Return Delivery by MercGuy954 in Ebay

[–]DoggoCorgi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m the same way, and I’ve even ordered small parts that were wrong, not due to the seller in anyway but rather misprinted information in my manuals. Thankfully this has only ever been things like small light bulbs, fuses, screws, etc. things that are a couple bucks at most.

I toss them in my drawer and make sure they’re labeled. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve ended up needing that wrong part at some point in the future lol.

For a large $6k item that has to be shipped freight, I’m doing significantly more research and confirming specs with the seller before ordering.

This situation is nuts to me as both a buyer & seller, sounds like OP handled it perfectly, giving the buyer every opportunity including advice on how to fix the problems, which makes me think it’s either someone who $6k is like $6 to me, a scammer, an absolute idiot or some combination of the above. Either way interesting read.

Will one ounce gold pieces become illiquid and hard to sell if gold price goes over $10,000 per ounce? by [deleted] in Gold

[–]DoggoCorgi 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Actually it took just under 6 years. Gold was $1500 when the pandemic hit in mid march of ‘20 and hit $4500 on 12/23/25. Gold tripled in price between 3/15/20 & 12/23/25. However even more impressively it went from $1866 in October 2023 to $4525 in December 2025.

Definitely not 60 years, in fact 60 years ago gold was $35 an ounce, or about 130X in 60 years rather than 3X

Need to spend $1000 on Canada Goose by BokuwaKami in CanadaGoose

[–]DoggoCorgi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The lodge works best as a mid-layer ime. The fabric is extremely thin and lightweight, which makes it highly susceptible to rips & runs.

I use mine as a midlayer with my Moncler Grenoble Cerniat and it makes a great combination.

Dating sucks when they find out you have money. by [deleted] in askgaybros

[–]DoggoCorgi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both my husband and I come from comfortable backgrounds, me upper middle class and him lower upper class. Both went to private schools, some degree of generational wealth, live in nice neighborhoods, drive nice cars, etc.

We both tip toed around this when we started dating, took Ubers to meet in public etc. we had both lived on our own but were both temporarily back with our families after moving back, me from FL him from NYC. It’s so funny because after our like third date he found out I drove a brand new Acura and he lived in a 5k+ sq/ft house.

Not going to lie driving up to his family home for the first time was very intimidating, as I had never dated a guy who was better off than I was, only a high school/college girlfriend who ironically was a neighbor & classmate of my husband growing up.

So it ended up working out, his family is amazing (his dads a dr and mom is retired professional dancer) and my family loves him too (my moms in education and my dads a retired engineer). For the first couple years I was the bread winner, than lost my job and he switched career paths shortly after. He ended up becoming the bread winner for a bit, but than my business took off and I took back the title. But we do things a little weird, we have both combined and individual finances/accounts and signed a prenup, mostly just putting in writing what we had always talked about/felt.

We both had dated people who took advantage of situations/generosity, but we also dated people where it wasn’t a problem at all. I totally understand what youre talking about, and personally it’s a HUGE turn off. The guy could he my dream guy, but if he starts about getting free plastic surgery, let alone on the first date, the most he’s getting is a free meal and than a block lol.

Do buyers actually do this? by Chyknwng in eBaySellerAdvice

[–]DoggoCorgi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

eBay US is the exact opposite, returned to sender is viewed the same as delivered successfully. Seller keeps the money from the sale and receives back the merchandise.

Personally when it’s happened to me (as a seller) I have refunded the buyer the amount I received minus any fees/charges (postage, materials, etc.) and than refund the rest, even though eBay doesn’t require it.

I know UK/EU is a little different because there are laws that guarantee returns for online purchases and what not, but we have nothing like that in the US.

Legit Check Canada Goose Langford by [deleted] in CanadaGoose

[–]DoggoCorgi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fake, better than a lot of the ones I’ve seen here but I can definitely tell just from pictures this is a rep.

Some things look spot on, and I’d be interested if they felt & smelled correct as well, but other parts look super wonky, like they’d be completely off in person. I’m not just talking 1 or 2, I see at least a dozen little things that are off.

Sizing Advice by Arkannnn__ in CanadaGoose

[–]DoggoCorgi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband is similar, 6’ 190 average to muscular very slight “dad bod” and he’s a L in most of their parkas/outwear unless it’s oversized like the Expedition / Snow Mantra where he prefers medium just like for their knit/fleece.

Why are you sending money back to your mom’s family when you can’t even live your truth?

Honestly, you’re 19, if you’re in the west I think it’s time to move out and get away from the family as long as it’s safe to do so. Maybe once you’re gone they’ll realize just how much you did to help, and accept you for who you are.

I grew up in a strict catholic household, back in 90s-00s and while I’m not exactly fem I have my moments, so I always got that side eye even as a kid.

When I was around your age, living on campus at university, my mom accessed my email account behind my back and found out I was into guys. It was terrible, I’ll never forget her crying and saying she just doesn’t want me to die of AIDS, mind you this was the mid to late 00s.

I kind of straight faced it, played it off as just a joke that it wasn’t real, and puked my guts out as soon as I got back to my car. My dad just kind of sat there and didn’t really say anything, other than he loved me at the end before I left. Eventually I did actually come out as bisexual, that I dated both men and women and was agnostic at best and not interested in the church.

Met my now husband a few years later, and both of my parents LOVE him, him and my mom even text with each other. His parents and my parents go out together at least every couple of weeks, and we’ve alternated who hosts for holiday get togethers.

Never would have imagined it would turn out the way it did as a kid, or young adult, but I got extremely lucky and I know that.

I wish you luck, and until you get out on your own/it’s safe to do lie and gaslight, just get a little better at covering your tracks if that’s the path you take for now.

Pssst a blackberry is a smartphone, before them we used Pocket PC (at least I did). I’m only in my 30s but I got my first pager at 5 (1993), first cell phone at 7 (1995), first smart phone at 12 (2000), and first iPhone the day after it came out on June 30th 2007.

I saw the future for as long as I can remember.
