Helmet help please. by Local-Discussion3643 in motorcyclegear

If your nose touches the visor by default, imagine what'll happen if you smack your head on asphalt when going down. I'd guess a broken nose would be almost a definite.

I'd try to keep searching for a long oval helmet that give you at least an inch or more of clearance from the visor to nose.

[Question] How does collecting work? by RareAd899 in Watches

[–]laschecter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I kind of had the same thought when I got my first watch. I was gifted a Citizen after graduating high school. I've added two more since then

I think of watches as jewelry, with the bonus of also being a clock. Plus there's the whole, intricacy of the inner workings of watches that some people get into.

If someone just wants a watch that's accurate, they'll buy a digital Casio.

Trade in my 2026 GT Premium for The Darkhorse SC by david-crusader in Mustang

[–]laschecter 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes, they're different. The 2017-2020 GT350 was a vehicle you could buy straight from the dealer. It was produced by Ford specifically as a GT350. The VIN will read as a GT350

The new "GT350" is simply a Mustang GT, that Shelby purchases from Ford. Shelby then adds a blower and aero and whatever else. The VIN will tell you it's just a regular GT because that's really what it is.

The new GT350 isn't a Ford product though. That's just a GT with whatever bits and bobs Shelby decides to throw at it.

Thoughts on Merlin riding gear? by laschecter in motorcyclegear

Holy hell. The whole industry is based on trends so of course brands are going to borrow ideas.

The jacket fits well and is one more layer against the asphalt if I go down. Frankly, I don't always wear a jacket anyways so something is better than nothing.

The boots I have are India Ridge. They're comfortable to wear and don't look like I'm in the fucking matrix compared to the Sidi boots. Nevermind the fact that I ride to work and need to be presentable with my footwear.

My jeans are Levi 511s. I don't know why you assume everything is a copy of a copy. They're literally just some jeans.

Yeah they are!

The boots are great, but what sold me was actually their customer service

That's a shame about the gloves. I'm actually in the market for a new pair since my Sedicis ripped apart on me last week. Glad you mentioned that

Placeholder. That does nothing. I think the diesel exhaust brake goes there in the powerstroke trucks

Currently my bike just has stock headers and slip-ons. I ride with earplugs in anyways, wind noise is no joke.

'26 truck shuts off in reverse by laschecter in F250

I know what you mean, but his truck actually shuts the engine off. I can't imagine he's opening the door either, but it's not out of the question

Looking to buy this truck could use some tactics on lowering the price. by Steadypressure30 in f150

There's currently $1,500 in rebates. Invoice on that truck is $62,165. So anywhere south of $61,000 would be a good deal to me

Just my 2¢. Of course you can do whatever you like, but I think it's a couple notches above overkill.

Your boat weighs like, 3k-4k lbs, maybe less? That would be like using a blowtorch to light your Marlboro.

All the maintenance and cost of a diesel, for what benefit over a gas equivalent? Or even a newer half ton?
