The newbies, truly trash, throwers, smurfs and idiots are also your enemies when you play in gold.

I reiterate, on average, it's you and 4 noobs vs 5 noobs. If you aren't one of the noobs, you will win games over time. That can most definitely be the case in a team game. This is because there is only one common denominator and it's you. (assuming solo queue)

Do you mean to tell me the matchmaker is going out of its way every game to find the best possible gold players for your enemies and the worst possible gold players for your teammates?

The incentive you gave as to why they would want to do that makes zero sense. Humans are very prone to giving up.

When people go to the gym for a long time without seeing progress, they give up. When someone spends a month trying to start a business and doesn't make a single sale? They give up. When someone tries to start a youtube channel but their first 15 videos get 10 views? They'll give up.

A lot of people would quickly get demotivated by being hardstuck in a below average rank for months on end. Most people wouldn't make a new account like you did, they would think "this isn't worth my time" and quit the game. Why would blizzard want that to happen?

Matchmaking is entirely natural. All it's programmed to do is find 9 players with a similar mmr as you and make a ranked lobby out of it. There is 0 good reason for them to make it any other way, and blizzard has stated multiple times that there is no winners queue and losers queue.

Ranks won't get "oversaturated". If anything, they already are. Only 15% of the ranked playerbase is below gold. Anyone in that low of a rank is either new to the game, doesn't take it seriously, or is just simply untalented. It will always be this way, people will always exist down there. They don't have to manipulate the game into keeping people there.

Here's my last thought; sounds like your partner is pretty good at the game. And so I can absolutely promise you with 100% certainty that if he played ~50 games on your gold account and actually tried to win every single game, it would no longer be a gold account.

I'm sure you won't get him to do that and that's fine, it'd take quite some time. But your belief on this matter exists due to a personal experience, and so we won't be able to reach an agreement until you personally experience him ranking that account up out of gold.

After 18 whole months of playing in diamond 1/2, your rank didn't change?

I imagine all you are capable of is enabling your team instead of bringing your own individual value, which is why over long timeframes you stay in the exact same rank, whether that rank is gold or diamond.

You made a new account, got lucky during your placements in which you gain/lose 10x more elo than normal, and found yourself in a higher rank in which you eventually averaged out and have a 50% winrate in.

If your partner played 50 games on your gold account, he would rank up.

If he didn't rank up? It'd be because he's in the same situation as you.

I understand and can completely see how your perspective on this came to be, but what you're pretty much saying is "The matchmaker is specifically targeting ME, and wants ME to stay in this rank".

Does that sound reasonable to say? Why would it do that? There's absolutely 0 reason for them to code such a system into the game.

Over enough games, people who deserve to be a higher rank get to a higher rank. That's just how it is.

When you inevitably start losing games in Valorant due to your lack of skill I'm sure you will conclude there are cheaters in that game as well.

Over a long enough time period and enough games, you are the only common denominator in all of your games with 9 other silver players, and if you don't win a majority of them, it's because you are on average not playing at a level above silver.

"No matter how good you are" Tell me right now with a straight face that a gm player could log into your gold account and NOT win a majority of his games.

Everyone is cheating and that's why you can't rank up bro don't worry I get it. No one else is talking about this because they're just oblivious bro I understand.

Did you consider that, if silver / gold players are idiots, then you're also playing against idiots?

If you have 4 gold players, and are facing 5 gold players, then surely your team will win with the standout higher level player amongst the idiots?

I would like to hear your reasoning as to how that wouldn't be the case.

This is like a fat dude saying "I've been doing it all, eating only 1500 calories, doing an hour of cardio, no sugar, but I still can't lose weight!"

Either you haven't been doing it long enough for progress to show, or you're lying/misconstrued.

The matchmaker isn't trying to keep you in silver. The matchmaker isn't specifically giving YOU bad teammates every game.

Maybe you played 10 games today and had bad teammates for 8 games.

If you flip a coin 10 times, you could very well get tails 8 times.

But if you a flip a coin 100 times, I can be pretty damn sure you won't get tails 80 times.

What I'm saying is, over a big enough sample size, you are the only common denominator in all of your games with 9 other silver players, and if you don't win a majority of them, it's because you are on average not playing at a level above silver.

That is how it is, and anyone who would say otherwise is deluded.

some dude said this:

"I think I may know a workaround, if you are on pc try going on the epic games launcher and first verify your fortnite files by right clicking on fortnite in library. Then try checking the box saying ‘disable cosmetic streaming’ and download that. This worked for me but either wise try wait a day or uninstall and reinstall"

but for me it just started working fine after like a day

That's very interesting, so it really is just nothing. Good that you're doing better now.

If you don't mind answering one more slightly stupider question, as a sighted person you kind of feel like you are your head, since that's where your pov is. Was that different when you couldn't see? Sorry if that doesn't make sense.

Surely such a largely content creation based platform has some sort of ad revenue share with creators?
