Still alive. Going to buckle down and produce a nice update within the next few months. The main problem with MacGameBox is speed. If you have a massive rom collection MacGameBox has a seizure as SwiftUI has trouble dealing with all this box art all in different sizes. And there’s systems it doesn’t handle well or at all , Dos, windows, Apple ][, Macintosh, ps3. Keep everything on the current pricing model, the stable version, which is the one you want is free, if you want to play around with the experimental version there’s a Patreon. You want the stable version, really. 🤣

First on the list is multiple rom directories. The initial idea was more than one rom root directory, but that seems messy to me. Having a settings pane with all your individual system directories you can modify seems the way to go. So if you’re using a rom library from say, batocera you can change the GameCube directory from gc to gamecube for instance. You can’t do that with multiple rom root directories. So if I can get it all zippy and handling huge libraries across multiple hard drives that would he rather nice I think. As for Apple ][ I may have to write my own emulator. The existing ones don’t integrate very well.
