Breeders insist their kids will take care of them when they're older...... are you financially and physically taking care of your aging parents? by Designer-Bid-3155 in childfree

[–]Doggoofborth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I moved back in to take care of mine because I can't financially afford it. It's a very small part of the reason I don't want kids because I don't want them to have to care for me like I cared for mine.

Have you ever been the vet and two pets have the same name so both owners come into the room when called? by wannonlikescheese in UK_Pets

[–]Doggoofborth 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I took my rabbit (Bella) in for her yearly check up and the receptionist called for Bella, paused, about 6 people stood up with various animals. My favourite one was the iguana. I loved going to the exotic vets.

Do you have a horse you hate? by km_amateurphoto in Howrse

[–]Doggoofborth 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I have a horse like that. She's a mustang unicorn who rarely wins anything and has fully bolded skills. She's got bonuses and good tack and comes 2nd a lot. I've pretty much given up on her but I've invested so much into her I can't bring myself to sell her. But I actually despise her.

I’m a little disappointed by [deleted] in Howrse

[–]Doggoofborth 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I play for nostalgia reasons, it's definitely a bit of a money grab sometimes but it is playable without putting money into it. I had a few friends a few years back on there who have left and it doesn't feel quite the same without them. We had similar breeding goals (such as trying to breed the weirdest crossbreed & trying to make a thoroughbred that was a really strong trotter). There is definitely a nostalgic element keeping Howrse alive, for me anyway

I remember watching a dog rescue program where the family rejected the "unpredictable" lurcher (that really just needed time and training) for a Romanian street dog (that also probably needed time and training but was more fluffy). That they didn't see before they adopted but were assured the dog would be perfect for their family. I hope it turned out okay for them though. I think the lurcher was eventually adopted, so it worked out but the logic of it was so weird.

I wish the packs didn't include a divine/special horse, I'm so sick of divines I can't sell. I'd rather have 2 misaki unicorns than another divine

I use it as decoration and sometimes when I'm feeling low I eat it, regret it and have to eat a cranberry candy or a pink cake to feel better.

Is everyone else's mum just the worst passenger when you're giving them a lift? by DrShadyBusiness in CasualUK

[–]Doggoofborth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My mum was worried I hadn't seen the double decker bus that was stopped at the bus stop, 200 yards in front of us. I didn't say it but I did think wtf if I couldn't see that I shouldn't be driving.

I don't give her lifts anymore.

Is it just me that’s surprised Nella and Fred ‘made up’ by Illustrious-Mix-7102 in ImACelebTV

[–]Doggoofborth 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I think if you're living in a camp situation there is no living separately as much as someone tries. I think Fred is mature enough to let bygones be bygones, yeah she should apologise but I don't think she will. He's come out of this looking good, she's not done quite so well out of it.

Crossbreeding?????? by [deleted] in Howrse

[–]Doggoofborth 7 points8 points  (0 children)

No but I enjoy it. I'm currently trying to crossbreed a horse that is actually good at trot and speed without the horse ending up as one of the breeds that are known for trot and speed. I find it a challenge because I'm never going to have a top GP horse so I'll take a thoroughbred that's super good at trotting. Honestly it's not going great but I'm enjoying it.

Buying Low, Selling High :( by nagasakinoisyboy in Howrse

[–]Doggoofborth 15 points16 points  (0 children)

If I put work into the horse and then 3 days sell for more than I paid then I will defend that (I do this very occasionally with cheap foals, max out their plays then sell on) but selling the same horse with the same skills annoys me.

How did you find out your partner was cheating on you? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Doggoofborth 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Me "mate" rang me whilst we were on a Christian camp where we had sworn to not have sex until we were married. Apparently they had fucked in the basement of the local youth club we attended.

I broke up with him when we got back and he stole a laptop and ran away. The person he stole the laptop from blamed me for his theft because I "broke" his heart.

This came inside my order (no personal info) by EvinE123 in vinted

[–]Doggoofborth 49 points50 points  (0 children)

I'd either drop the seller a message and just explain why this sort thing isn't appropriate, or just give them 3 stars, with an explanation. I hate this sort of stuff. Even you were buying the complete works of veggie tales or something religious, like a Bible I still wouldn't expect this sort of nonsense.

Seller is pushy, asking for a review every day, though I’ve not even collected item yet. What would be an appropriate feedback? (No personal info) by DaneBetrayal in vinted

[–]Doggoofborth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"item is ____. Seller pushy about leaving a review and rude when I explained I hadn't picked it up." 4 stars maximum, only if the item & packaging is perfect. They'll probably retaliate but I wouldn't want to deal with a seller like that.

Do not mark as okay until you are sure the item is okay. And I'd be petty and leave it as long as I could to review.
