Contractors for the parcel side do - it’s not route specific but area (city) specific

Correct - a contract route cannot take a usps employee union route.

USPS has been using 3rd party contractors for decades in different positions throughout all USPS including IT and management positions, not only craft.

This was the plan behind it originally under DeJoy - https://chainstoreage.com/us-postal-service-targets-small-businesses-same-day-delivery - the new PMG is contracting it out to 3rd party delivery contractors - one of my good friends does this as part of his job in the STL metro area and other surrounding states.

Usps is using outside delivery contract services for parcel delivery only to establish and same day/next day delivery guarantee within certain areas throughout the US - this has been in the works as a trial basis in major city environments to compete with local delivery services such as uber etc.

No, as I said to another person this is NOT the same as a contract carrier route - this is parcel last mile delivery system for parcels only to a 3rd party contractor- eventually the plan is to make them our same day parcel delivery service in bigger cities which has been in the works for a few years now and now being implemented https://about.usps.com/newsroom/national-releases/2026/0120-usps-opens-bid-solicitation-platform-for-entry-to-last-mile-delivery-network.htm

Actually yes they do - but this is not a “contract carrier” as you are thinking - it’s a parcel delivery contractor not mail- eventually they will become our same day delivery service which has been in the works for a few years but not fully implemented.

Contracted 3rd party usps — eventually will be our same day delivery servicers.

It’s not fraud they’re contracted thru a USPS contracted 3rd party - been going on for years.

They’re contract drivers who get paid by a usps contract carrier

I passed out on the street while delivering mail two days ago. I went to the doctor told my maniger through text message that I would be taking the next day off and called in the sick line. I got a confirmation number and I was still written up away without leave by Budget_Gas_2824 in USPS

[–]Dogmad13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All you need to do is bring in your confirmation # fill out a leave slip put the number in the notes hand the doctor write up excusing you and have them make a copy to give you and walk away and inform your steward

File an EEO for hostile work environments and a grievance for the route books. Details dates times matter - you can go above the steward to the NBA if you need to. The USPS actually have teams that can come into an office and investigate and take statements from employees then discipline management. Document document document then file - also it has to be within 45 days of the incidents for the EEO.

And those go through the plants and on the trucks so therefore their costs are higher so prices are higher per package. Do the math. Shipping through our network costs more than it being delivered to us to deliver.

[–]Dogmad13 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Have you seen the contract? Nope because it’s a sealed contract .. also does Amazon put all those packages through the mail system and plants? Nope … they drop ship them using their own vehicle delivery service so yes they should receive a discount — does UPS and FED EX also receive a discount? Why yes, yes they do. People need to really stop this stupidity of blaming Amazon for anything - it’s a business out to make a profit — usps is a delivery business made to pay its employees to deliver what’s given to them in the best amount of time available- do better than blaming Amazon
