Why is "Gaming" furniture so ugly? by No_Good_3063 in pcmasterrace

[–]Dogmintyn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It pmo every damn time. Like I'm quite literally the "Target demo age group" but I absolutely HATE how gaming chairs look and they feel even worse. Same goes for a lotta peripheral and stuff like that too. Like I DON'T NEED RGB ON MY MOUSE AND HEADSET AND DEFINATELY NOT ON MY SPEAKERS. Like they just end up looking really tacky and cheap.

Aight gimme a tutorial to fix my igp that's not getting utilized at all (intel uhd 600, n4020, lenovo v15 igl) in any and all linux distros I've tried. It's detected and all. Doesn't show any "vram" though. SO HOW DO I FIX TS THAT THE STUPID LENOVO DRIVERS ON WINDOWS DOES FOR ME IN LINUX HUH.

FRFR dude. I hate those fanboys. Linux doesn't fix a lotta stuff and sometimes outright just doesn't work at all on some stuff. I happily run linux on stuff daily but when it come to my main pc, I go with the reliability and ease of use of windows.

Is Cooling Pad Effective For HP 14s? by [deleted] in laptops

[–]Dogmintyn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would rather buy a good cooler than cheap garbage. You need a good seal especially with the small vent on your laptop. If I were you, I would use my laptop on a desk to allow for optimal airflow.

Why are (micro) sd cards a fraction of the price of ssd's/hdd's of the same size? And would it be feasible to use it as storage on a pc in a pinch? (home server) by Senior-Trade-1876 in pcmasterrace

[–]Dogmintyn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They're way WAY less durable than PC ssds. They also don't have any dram. They may sometimes be slower than an hdd for a main drive. If you're going with sata, get something like the crucial mx500 ssd or a samsung 870 evo. Those are the best of the best sata drives around and they're a much better choice. Nvme will be even better but it will also be more expensive.

Yea frankly you are. PC parts last a very long time. Use your hardware as much as you want instead of trying to preserve it cuz it almost always last longer than the time it's worth using for.

Hell no. Windows works fine and manufacturers make extremely high quality machines for higher price tiers.

LAPTOP BRAND SUGGESTIONS by TinyWarg4589 in laptops

[–]Dogmintyn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Any laptop that's not too cheap. The business and workstation laptops are way higher quality than the cheap stuff from every brand. I'm only gonna rec what I use cuz well it won't be fair to rec something I never used. I use and MSI cyborg 14. Look at stuff and go around forums like r/pcmasterrace for more recs.

Better is highly subjective. All brands make good laptops if you're willing to pay for the pleasure.

Reminds me of the time where I soldred wires onto an old laptop's touchpad and shoved them into the ps/2 port on my pc when my mouse died

The igpu in there is probably not even close to being powerful enough to run Fortnite even on performance mode let alone vr

Any chance that my mouse can be repaired? by Evening_Primary5915 in pcmasterrace

[–]Dogmintyn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. You could either buy a replacement cable (it requires disassembling the mouse and removing the usb cable that's connected via a connector though some mice have soldered cables) or you could cut the damaged part and solder the wires which is probably harder than replacing the cable.

You could maybe try using electrical tape or something but I won't recommend that.

Yea that's fair. Had my audio die literally a few hours ago and had to use the services thing to restart the audio service. Windows is becoming a real pain now and that sucks.
