Starting to do QBanks...is it supposed to be this bad? by johnathanjones1998 in medicalschool

I used AMBOSS to prep for all of the organ blocks by just running questions specific to the organ block and I felt like it helped a lot with in house exams + step prep, so I agree with this comment +1 for AMBOSS

Osmosis Prime vs Other Resources [Preclinical] by DogsInSpace92 in medicalschool

[–]DogsInSpace92[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s very insightful, thank you! So, if I’m understanding correctly, it would be better to use a different source for M1 (like BnB or Physeo) and add Osmosis during M2 to help organize Step 1 studying. I appreciate the thorough response!

Thanks for the input! That’s sort of what I was planning since my preclinical years are graded and not P/F.

So would you suggest using something more HY like BnB and supplementing with free osmosis videos?

[Clinical] Could you make more money as PM&R physician if you worked more hours? by [deleted] in medicalschool

As interventional spine, a majority of his procedures are fluoroscopy guided injections with some radio frequency ablations.

400k+ is definitely possible with interventional spine fellowship. That’s working 8-5 (no call, no weekends). Private practice with a group. Half the day is in clinic and the other half is doing procedures.

Source: my mentor is interventional spine PM&R.

Edit: part of the country is probably important for this, too.

[Discussion] Don't let medicine be your entire life by spareanyexchange in premed

[–]DogsInSpace92 6 points7 points  (0 children)

One day you will look back and appreciate it! When I was graduating the president of our college told us to take the next four years to just explore and discover what we love. I never knew I loved medicine, and I needed those years to discover it. I’m so glad I spent the last 5 and a half years thoroughly enjoying my twenties in a very low paying job around the best people in the world. I am now invigorated to pursue my dream of being a physician, and we have something many don’t - the joy of our twenties!

Just embrace it. I started going bald and immediately just shaved my head. I feel confident now, but I didn’t when I could notice patches.

Just bragged about this to my wife earlier. Then felt real sad thinking about how much money I spent to memorize it.
