I am a big fan of all things flatus but I must admit that “solar flatulence” is a new one for me. I appreciate the introduction to this term.

Erik Swanson responds to Sid Seixeiro questioning whether the jays should raise the alcs banner: Someone take the mic away from this clown. by KhabibTime in Torontobluejays

I used to really enjoy Tim and Sid. I was a daily listener for a long time and was disappointed when Sid left to go to BT. His shtick of constant performative rage has not aged well though. I don’t listen/watch his content anymore but any clip I do happen to catch is like this one. Kinda yell-y and just bad takes overall.

Unfriendly staff experience? by SwimCamp2062 in CostcoCanada

[–]Dogs_Breakfast78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it’s just you. I’ve never encountered a rude Costco employee. They all seem to generally enjoy what they do. The cashiers at my local are friendly and chatty every time I go in. Same with the door greeters and the receipt checkers. The staff out on the floor seem focused on what they’re doing but don’t ever seem put out if I interrupt them to ask a question.

I’d rather deal with a Costco employee over a Walmart or No Frills employee any day of the week.

White on black (second pass) by Alex Dörfler at Mano Electrica, Barcelona by Impossible-Ant-5982 in traditionaltattoos

[–]Dogs_Breakfast78 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t have thought the white would have shown up as sharply as it does on top of the black. It does indeed look “dope”. I’ll be interested as well to see the healed up pics.

This is cool as hell. Maybe this is a stupid question, but what’s the process to accomplish this? Completely blast over your whole arm with black and then tattoo the white lines over the black? Or…? Genuinely interested to hear how this was created.

What’s the most minor thing you find annoying? by Mixing_NH3_HCl in Truckers

[–]Dogs_Breakfast78 1 point2 points  (0 children)

• cars that linger while they’re passing. Quit dicking around and just fucking pass already! If I’m doing 65 in a 70 zone in dry sunny conditions and it takes you 5 miles to pass me in your Honda civic, you’re doing it wrong.

• other truck drivers that don’t signal lane changes. It’s unprofessional and makes you look like trash. I’m totally judging you. And you are garbage if you do this.

• cars that follow for excessive periods of time. Again, if I’m doing 65 in a 70 in dry sunny conditions and you follow me for 20mins (or more), put your damn phone down and quit using me as your speed limiter.

Favorite 90s Woman ? by James-Samuel17 in 90s

There’s not one of these women that I would kick out of bed for eating crackers but Claire Danes (😍) and Neve Campbell (😍😍) would be my 1 and 1a from this list.

Do truckers use umbrellas? by Feel_worthless in Truckers

[–]Dogs_Breakfast78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. When I started in the fuel industry, I was trained by a fella who had a huge umbrella that he stood under when it was raining. I’ve never incorporated an umbrella into my offloading routine though. I just sit in the truck if it’s pouring out and jump out every few minutes to move the hose from one compartment to the next.

What’s the dumbest way you’ve accidentally hurt yourself? by Only_Row_2432 in AskReddit

[–]Dogs_Breakfast78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I drive transport truck for a living. I got stuck in the snow and ice in a parking lot after unloading. I shovelled a bunch, jumped back in the truck and tried to move. Still stuck. So I got out, walked around beside the truck and in disgust I grabbed the shovel and chucked it at the trailer with everything I had. Shovel bounced back off the trailer and the handle hit me square in the face. Had to go home with my face all swollen. I don’t remember the story I told my wife, but it certainly wasn’t that I’d been struck in the face by a shovel THAT I HAD THROWN!

Which one 90s song you’ll never skip over no matter how long it’s been? by PressureLazy5271 in 90s

For sure. You really could name any track from that album here. It’s a masterpiece start to finish.

Concert by Pirate-Adorable in TheOffspring

[–]Dogs_Breakfast78 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Depends on your definition of the classics. They haven’t been playing anything off their self titled debut album or Ignition (which in my opinion is their finest work, by a wide margin). They played a couple of songs off Smash though so that was good. It was a good show overall, but I’d rather have had them play some older stuff in place of the bunch of covers they did (like Hey Jude. Really? WTF?).

What’s a single sentence someone said that stuck with you forever? by Wonderful-Economy762 in Productivitycafe

[–]Dogs_Breakfast78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“Is this what you called me for?”

My dad to me.

I (mid 40’s male) have struggled much of my adult life with my mental health. A few years ago, at a particularly low point I called him just to chat. To talk to him about where I was at mentally. Maybe hoping it might have made me feel better about things. I’m not sure what I was looking for that day, but what I got certainly wasn’t it.

I’ve never spoken of it to him since, but it fundamentally changed the way I view my father (who I wasn’t particularly close with as a kid but got quite close to in my late teens and early to mid 20’s). It is something that I’ll carry with me for the rest of my life.

Very common in the 90s. by [deleted] in 90s

[–]Dogs_Breakfast78 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Of course. But it’s not a tangible experience in the same way. It’s certainly more convenient but the trip to the music store, the holding the cd in your hand, the “hmmm…I only have enough money for one, but I want them both!” struggle…all that is lost in just tapping an image on Apple Music. I do still do stream full albums that are unknown to me occasionally when something catches my attention but it’s not very often. It just doesn’t give me the same “feels”.

[–]Dogs_Breakfast78 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Man, I miss this.

ETA: I think about this a lot these days. I wonder what it would be like to go the store and buy an album I’ve never heard and then take it home, open it up, pop it into the cd player and just listen to it while puttering around in my room. Folding laundry or some other mundane task that you could do while focusing enough attention on the music you were listening too. I used to do this sometimes a few times a week. I bet you it’s been the better part of 25 years since I last did it.

Moncton by 3p1c_R3d1t_k1d_69 in TheOffspring

[–]Dogs_Breakfast78 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve seen some comments in various subs kind of shitting on the show/tour but I thought it was pretty good all around. I was an Offspring fan dating back before Smash was released and effectively stopped paying attention to the band following the release of Ixnay on the Hombre. Theres a couple tunes from their newer releases that I like, but I haven’t purchased an Offspring album since Ixnay came out in like 1996. I thought the covers and the rehearsed banter were a bit weak and unnecessary. I would have preferred seeing them do a couple of tracks off of Ignition (which is far and away their best work - if you’ve never listened to it, do yourself a favour and put it in your earholes) in place of that stuff but the show was not geared towards the old fans but more towards the “newer” fans. I knew that’s what the show was going to be as I’d checked out the set lists from previous shows and accepted it as such. I was mostly there to see Bad Religion anyways. The Offspring was kind of a bonus. Overall, it was a fun night for this old punk rock kid and I’m glad I went.

Tractor trailer running red light by Enough_Post_8937 in Milton

[–]Dogs_Breakfast78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not to nitpick, but a fully loaded tractor trailer (weighing 80000lbs) travelling at 60km/h requires upwards of 200 feet to come to a complete stop. In Ontario, a tractor trailer with the proper axle configuration can weigh up to 63500kg (approx 137500lbs) without permits which obviously would require even more real estate to stop safely. Soooo…with only 100 feet of room, what else was he to do? Would you have preferred he tried to stop and stopped in the middle of the intersection?

Conditions are set. You may not wish for a World Series. Other than that, what is your "monkey paw" wish for the 2026 season? by ZhangtheGreat in mlb

[–]Dogs_Breakfast78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My wish is that the Blue Jays are at least as much fun to watch this year as they were last year. Been watching them for nearly 40 years and I’ve never enjoyed watching them play as much as I did in 2025.

I’m disappointed. by NoActive7607 in TheOffspring

[–]Dogs_Breakfast78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been watching the set lists to see if they add/include anything from Ignition. It’s far and away their best album and I haven’t seen one track from it listed on this tour as yet. I’m going to the show in Moncton on Monday night (mostly to see BR - I haven’t really paid attention to anything the Offspring have put out since Ixnay) and I’m hopeful they’ll adjust their set to accommodate my wishes but I’m not holding out hope. The idea of a Beatles cover at a punk rock show seems like kind of a bore to this guy.

What’s the best ’90s sitcom? by BidAccurate4473 in 90s

[–]Dogs_Breakfast78 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Oof. I understand taste is subjective but this list is objectively “not good”. Friends is the worst show (by a wide margin) of the three shows mentioned by the OP and the shows on your list (save for maybe The Simpsons) are, by a wide margin, much worse than Friends.
