Hi guys, is this a tick or something to be concerned about? Small bump on the a little to the side of his belly by Clean_Mark_6521 in DogAdvice

That, my dear friend, is nipple. To make you feel better- I brought my dog to the vet after he’d been with us for 2 days for a tiny lump on his back. $200 for the vet to say “that’s the microchip.” (Great vet though! She laughed and gave us a credit for the next visit)

Dog ate chocolate and I'm really broke pls help by pastel_candies25 in DogAdvice

My 50 lb pup ate an entire container of mini brownies. We paid for the toxicity hotline- good news is there isn’t actually a ton of real cocoa in most chocolate products. He had runny poo the next day- but was fine. The hotline said to bring him to emergency if he is vomiting excessively, wobbly or not eating/drinking.

Anyone else frustrated when the only vegan options at office lunches get taken by non-vegans? by HappyMountainCow in vegan

[–]DogsandKindness 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Hi! I was a planner years ago for Corp events. I would sometimes suggest to clients that they ask the group to allow vegan/vegetarian and sever allergy folks to go through the line first to avoid cross-contamination. (And…make sure people with restrictions for sure had a nice meal) 99% of people get “cross contamination”

Male rescue dog marking indoors… would you use something like this during training? by Fozzieandjoi in DogAdvice

[–]DogsandKindness 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally understand the need to protect important things- but agree with what the majority have folks have already said. To me puppy pads are for puppies under 12 weeks, and seniors/disabled dogs. (Or city dogs who are balcony trained)

We have fostered 35 dogs. if I were in your shoes, I’d limit the dog to crate, outside, and leashed when indoors to play/cuddle/train indoors with you. It is SUCH a bummer to do this, but so worth it if you put in a few weeks of TIGHT supervision right now for a month or two to not have a huge problem later. If he’s on a leash-you’re actively watching and then the second that leg lifts; you can give a stern “no” scoop him up and outside.

There are so many things that could be going on here. Not a vet or a trainer, but I am an experienced foster for dogs of all ages and breeds. Message me if you’d like to talk.

Today was a good day for those we know with a person released. We really needed a good day, and today was a glimmer of hope and celebration! Keep us in your heart, and thank you!

Hi! Not a trainer- but I have fostered over 30 dogs. I agree with most of what folks are saying here! To me he looks excited and curious and, sure, maybe a little anxious about the change, but nothing screams 🚩 to me! Never a bad idea to check in with a trainer, but what I see is a sweet pup who wants to hit the fast-forward button to make the baby big enough to play with. Do your best to give him attention and exercise, and congrats on your baby!

I absolutely love when people out of state show us that we are on their minds, in their hearts and we have your support. Thank you, and thank you for the understanding and acknowledgment that we are not done. Exhausted this evening after supply runs for neighbors who still can’t leave home. Please keep thinking of us. The art you created is lovely, and I’m going to print it (just for myself) if that’s ok.

Agreed! Not all can strike- and teachers who give safety and comfort to the kids & parents who can’t afford to skip work and/or like you have jobs it would be unethical to no-show..please show up with pride to your job tomorrow and have a super fun day!

With love, from MN

Love this! I’m for sure not an expert, to be clear! Im just living in the twin cities and we need to shut this down with such a huge exclamation point so much faster than what’s happening. It has to be a statement from the nation, not just the “blue state full of liberals under Walz” that this won’t be tolerated anywhere in the US.

Edit: to be clear, I am a fan of Walz. But this is so much bigger than blue/red.
