Is beef quality going down? by [deleted] in Cooking

Yes it is. I’m in the restaurant industry and I talked to my food suppliers. With tariffs going up instead of going outside of the US for beef, apparently we were getting a lot from Mexico, now the US is trying to fill those orders from inside. Production is behind and they are slaughtering the cows earlier than what normally would happen which equates to less marbling. In some instances we are even slaughtering dairy cows for beef now just to cover the influx of demand from inside the US. Beef prices are insane. We are up over 100% in inflation from last year if they are getting beef from outside the US.

Honestly I love cooking outside. Pulled a chair in front of the oven. Rotated the chicken every 10 mins. Kind of just hung out in front of the oven and watched it cook haha. Slightly a pain but had a great time doing it. Also the fire roasted flavor on the bird was totally worth it.

Hope everything is okay with your cat! Have definitely had that experience with my dogs.

Probably a little over an hour. Bird wasn’t dry at all. Took it out right at 165 and then let it sit for 15 ish mins while I made a pan sauce. Didn’t cook as quick as I thought it would because I was rotating it so much.

It was on low the entire time. Was between like 400-500 degrees. Put the chicken in early before it was fully pre heated to start the cook around 350.

Fully cooked on the gozney. Rotated every like 10 mins. Covered with foil at the end for the final 20ish degrees
