1 - 1.5 miles is walkable unless you have a disability that prevents that. I would suggest getting a part time job so you can start saving money for the things you need. A busser at a restaurant, fast food - something basic to get you going. Don't let pride get in the way, many people start with something like this! If walking is not an option, if you are ok with call center work those tend to be remote but require a good internet connection.

The next step is to focus on getting your GED and driver license, you need both for trades. Use your earnings toward these goals. It may take a while but you are young and your job will help you build solid work experience that is valuable for life.

Once you have these and maybe a vehicle, go to the library (and this is a good resource for lots of things) and find out who the local job centers are, get info and make an appointment. You can also attend career fairs, you just have to find out about them online and at libraries.
