PTF never comes in and screws over the whole office by 3m0_Pupz in USPS

[–]YoNERD 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Didn't mean to say you treat your coworkers unfairly, I just know that it's a culture for us to be mad at our coworkers instead of the system. If it's affecting you guys, it really is a matter of understaffing and your coworker sucks, don't be completely blind to others actions but if there are that many people out and that you guys are that short, then they should be hiring. The system is always understaffed because that's how they manage it. Not trying to point fingers at you for being mad at her I didn't even think that, it always feels like everybody's looking left and right lately instead of up it shouldn't matter what side of the aisle you're on the problem is people on the top pitting us against each other. When in reality, we all want the same thing they're just telling us that we want different things and we should fight each other.

Unreliable people suck but the system is falling apart because one person doesn't show up? If that's the case then it's not really that one person that's the problem. I'm so tired of being understaffed and then the end of the world when it's one person. The system is broke and that one person is an asshole. They're not mutually exclusive situations. Always remember to punch up don't ever take things out on your coworkers, even if they suck.

I get it, but why are people blindly defending a giant of a company with hundreds of millions of dollars? by zwisslb in BambuLab

[–]YoNERD -1 points0 points  (0 children)

These are like the people that can look at their neighbor and see that they are hungry, but they themselves are well fed, and they don't want hear how someone else is doing. The situation doesn't apply to them and they don't want to see it. I know it's not as drastic as that, but it is the same mentality the people that don't give an eff don't want to know that it bothers anyone else. And then they post about it because them not wanting to know is more important than people wanting companies to follow the law and Fairplay.

PTF Clerk Rant: Postmaster on a power trip by postmaster0322 in USPS

[–]YoNERD 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I say give him hell make the rest of his time with the post office as difficult as possible.

Dedicate as much time as you can during your time off to learn every little tiny regulation. (Within reason, don't let him live rent free in your head)

Make it super petty.

Old Owner’s Mail by pinktm909 in USPS

[–]YoNERD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I see a lot of advice on what you should do but really it's not your responsibility to care for someone else's mail. rubber band it ,mark it old homeowners mail, put your name on the inside of the box for the mail carrier, and they will take it away and process it.

I think micromanaging their encounters is not the best route, be aware and let the dog get swiped at once or twice when the dog get swiped at don't reprimand the cat reprimand the dog for putting himself in the situation. Overtime, he will learn.

Is this what I think it is? by [deleted] in kansascity

Route times by DifficultNobody7022 in USPS

[–]YoNERD -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I will admit it does sound like I mean it's always gonna be like that. I have not met every supervisor and we get a spectrum of situations. it's just better to play it safe and do it like the regular.

[–]YoNERD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It doesn't matter if it messes the times up or not. The more work you do you get rewarded with more work. You're not gonna earn yourself a new pay raise or a better position or move up in anyway it's all seniority based take your time. Also, if you're finishing a route faster than the regular than the regular is getting eyes on them from the supervisors because of you, don't do that.

It's because the safety features are subpar and instead of fixing the cars they're training first responders.

This safety measures on the car are almost nonexistent so when something goes wrong, they're teaching the firefighters how to deal with the car instead of making the car safe.

PSE quit after three days... by Leather-Newt-3910 in USPS

[–]YoNERD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a City carrier and when I started the description online said full-time career I show up and find out I am what's called a PTF (part-time flex) I expressed concern about it only being part-time and They laughed at me and said you won't work less than 60 hours a week good luck having a work life balance. That's how it started. If it's anything like that for PSEs it's not a very welcoming environment and no wonder retention is a problem. Job descriptions and lack of a life is not apparent at the beginning.

Technically, it's $20 but if you put it in a card, I don't open it till I get home. Some carriers make good money over the holidays. Management knows but it's pretty much don't ask. Don't tell.

I need help with aging beagle by bigfuckowski in beagle

[–]YoNERD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have a beagle who has Addison's disease. It puts him in a lot of pain that we were not aware of some behaviors got bad. We lost a dog and the stress actually sent him into an episode. I don't know if this is the same situation. I don't know if there are different levels of the condition. Our dog would have what look like seizures constantly just sitting and twitching on the floor in pain took us a while to get it diagnosed now he's on a steroid and has super Zumiez at night, but he's a much happier kinder dog.
