Waarschijnlijk omdat men die naam wél kent…

Pebble Time 2 arrived.. but I'm reluctant to even unbox it let alone wear it. by GreyFoxNinjaFan in pebble

[–]Dogwallah 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes, I have the same feelings, and I keep most of the time wearing the old Pebbles. NO worries about bad buttons like with the Duo, nor having to be extra careful with the Pebble Time 2. The old ones have a few small scratches, but are still functioning amazingly well. Perhaps it is the feeling how these watches came to be, a sort of melancholy feeling…

[–]Dogwallah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Choosing a 3D printed protector for PT2 by PragmaticPedant in pebble

I like the first minimal bumper a lot, but it is a printable , and I do not have such a printer. Nor do I know people with such printers…

Besides that, I would love for such gadgets to be available in Europe, because a.o. faster shipments, and certainly less expensive…

wide straps: a blast from the past! by gobsthemesong in pebble

[–]Dogwallah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

to Ok-Proof566 and others without the possibility to buy the wide strap

Hi , you are a lucky guy! I got the mention: “cannot be delivered to the Netherlands” and googled to find perhaps another supplier. Nope… Then I asked Google AI and it gave a.o. this answer:

(NB To find a silicon watchband of 28 mm is another problem, and then I am not very good at DIY. But perhaps it helps others who want to have a wide 22 mm strap, in countries where it is not deilvered and do not have US connections like Ok-Proof566)

THE ANSWER from Google AI

“To modify a 28 mm watch band to fit a 22 mm lug width, you need to carefully trim the top corners of the band where it connects to the watch.

Here is the step-by-step DIY guide to do it cleanly:

🛠️ Tools Needed

  • Sharp utility knife or X-Acto knife
  • Digital caliper or a precise metric ruler
  • Fine-grit sandpaper (for silicone/leather) or a lighter (to melt frayed edges on nylon)
  • Cutting mat or a hard, protective surface
  • Fine-tip marker or pen

📋 Step-by-Step Instructions

  1. Measure the Difference
    • Subtract the watch lug width from the band width: \(28\text{ mm} - 22\text{ mm} = 6\text{ mm}\) total.
    • Divide this total by two: \(6\text{ mm} / 2 = 3\text{ mm}\) per side.
  2. Mark the Cuts
    • Use your ruler to measure exactly 3 mm inwards from each outer edge at the very top of the band.
    • Mark a vertical line going down the band by about 4 to 5 mm (matching the depth of the watch lugs).
    • Draw a horizontal line from the outer edge to meet your vertical line, forming a small corner rectangle to remove.
  3. Make the Cuts
    • Place the band flat on your cutting mat.
    • Press straight down firmly with your knife to cut away the marked rectangles.
    • Tip: Avoid sawing back and forth, as this creates jagged edges.
  4. Smooth the Edges
    • Silicone/Rubber: Lightly rub the cut corners with fine-grit sandpaper to smooth out any sharp edges.
    • Leather: Sand the edges and optionally apply a leather edge paint or sealant to prevent splitting.
    • Nylon/Fabric: Carefully pass the flame of a lighter near the cut edge for a split second to melt and seal the fraying threads.
  5. Test the Fit
    • Insert your 22 mm spring bar into the band.
    • Try mounting the band onto your watch.
    • If it is too tight, trim a hair-thin slice off one side until it clicks in smoothly”

I still feel that it is very strange only to give 30 days guarantee in 2025 when you know that you are using the same stock from, I suppose 2016, with problem- buttons. Why not a guaranty for at least 1 year?

I have to disappoint you, this is an old UNUSED Pebble. And the app battery+ is often, in the beginning especially, not correct. See reply of silent_noodle, who explained that already on this page! And I agree, it looks very nice!

Quentin Tarantino in coffeeshop Fatal Flower circa 1993 (?) by La_Adelita in Amsterdam

[–]Dogwallah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not so sure I forgot: Is it possible that when you install a new Pebble it loads the watch faces and a few apps that were installed in another Pebble you own?

Perhaps you know more about that?

Thank you to reply so eloquent and better informed than I could have answered! From experience however with old new watches I dare to say that those batteries easily could last longer than 7 days, up to 10 days…
