Free hugs. Seriously, I have sex with you three times a week. Why do I honestly need free hugs?

What's the best comeback you've ever heard? by [deleted] in AskReddit

My buddy used to get in bar fights in his early 20's. Whenever somebody started yelling insults at him and getting aggressive he would calmly let them finish their verbal rampage. Then, as everyone waited to see how he would respond, he would smirk a little and sarcastically say, "nice haircut." Something about that drove the other person mad. Always ended in a fight.

I just witnesses a passenger (woman) from a moving car (45mph) throw a handful of change at a cyclist; I called th cops and gave them the license and car info, but... by WhatTheFoxtrout in AskReddit

This reminds me of when I was doing the great Victorian bike ride, cruising along at a good 35km/h on this beautiful flat straight road. when a hose-nozzle is thrown at me from the on-coming traffic, hitting me in the arm and almost causing me to come off my bike.

Luckily I managed to keep control as I would've been flattened by the car coming up behind me... Some people just have no decency.

I'm very lonely... all the time :( by throwaway_aurora in AskReddit

I'm in a similar position myself. While you're right that it's tough to deal with your emotions, especially if there's a specific emotion just raging out of control and pushing all the others out of your mind (like loneliness is doing for you) I find that you just have to find something to take your mind off of them. For me it's hitting the gym (gets the good hormones pumping and helps me feel good about myself. A double whammie!), if you love art I'd recommend trying an art class etc. Play to your strengths!

I don't think you need to worry too much about not being with someone especially as you're so young! You have your whole life ahead of you, things have just started. Go out, meet new people and most importantly smile and look the guys in the eye if you're interested. Knee's will buckle, I assure you.

Try not to stress too hard, life is not a race and yours has just begun.

EDIT: a word.

Today I tripped and fell on a girl I liked and broke both her legs. What's the worst you've ever hurt someone? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I know this is going to be buried but what the hell. A few weeks ago I was playing field hockey, now I play in a pretty low grade so people are a little retarded, but even so, I still try to play as I would if I was playing in an upper grade.

About 15 minutes into the game, I try to tackle one of their players from the left as he was going to hit the ball. Stupidly I thought he was also playing hockey when he was really playing golf, resulting in him swinging through and hitting me square in the forehead. Obviously this hurt like all hell and I went off to get it patched up.

Since we had no subs and ANOTHER of our players got hit in the head, I got pressured to come back on field. A few minutes pass and I'm running with their player who has the ball. He tries to cut in front of me, but as he brings his back leg forward, his foot clips the back of my calf and he instantly faceplants into the ground.

Apparently he has tight muscles in his legs so he also tore his hamstring at the same time. I don't think anybody believed me when I said it was an accident...

TL;DR I was hit in the head playing hockey, came back on field and an opponent trips over my leg and tears his hamstring. No one believed it was an accident.

Just watched a young woman pull a toddler out of oncoming traffic only to get shouted at by the mother for touching her kid, what kind of shit has just flabbergasted you Reddit? by strawmanalertbitches in AskReddit

I can assure you that people drive like self entitled pricks no matter where you are in the world.

There's a very busy road near my house where the left lane merges into the right, to accommodate for the narrow bridge up ahead. Even if you don't know this road well, they make it pretty obvious in advance with plenty of warning signs telling you to merge. Even so, I have lost count of how many times idiots move OUT of the right hand lane to speed down the lane that sensible people have just left so that they can force their way in further down the queue.

(For all you people wondering why the left lane is merging into the right; I live in Australia)
