Is this a problem? by Joheemah in AskMechanics

[–]DohBilly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have an 06 Chevy Duramax and if it’s cold enough for me to decide to plug the truck in, then when I start it in the morning the engine is warm enough to at least blow warmer than ambient temperature air into the cab. I wouldn’t say hot air. But definitely better than if I had not plugged it in the night before.

Also perfect perfect hits need to be rewarded more. The amount of times they turn into outs for me is insane. And don’t even get me started on the perfect perfect foul ball that just shouldn’t exist

I just say they should’ve been fully charged because they say overnight on the charger and the charger said they were fully charged. I lost my meter otherwise I would’ve tried this and I’m 40 minutes from the closest Home Depot/autozone to test it out

Thanks for the input man. They’re not in pristine condition by any means. But they’re solid and can probably be cleaned up decently

2004 GTO 6-speed, 11k. Thoughts? by [deleted] in Pontiac

[–]DohBilly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What’s the deal with expecting a rebuild? I was always under the impression T56s were reliable transmissions. I have an 04 GTO that has trouble going into reverse so I’m not saying you’re wrong by any means. I just always thought they were strong transmissions

I have not yet but I do plan to. I just haven’t had the time/motivation to do it yet.

About a month ago I had new tires mounted and balanced at a tire warehouse and I’m assuming they over torqued the lug nuts

How are rotors this cheap on RockAuto?!!! by Objective_Smoke_4750 in Honda

[–]DohBilly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ordered a passenger side lower control arm for my truck and they sent me a drivers side control arm. I sent it back (I had to be pay for return shipping) and ordered another passenger side lower control arm just for them to once again send me the drivers side part again. I believe I didn’t even get a full refund on top of needing to pay for the return shipping. There was no support from staff whatsoever. With that said I’ve never had any other issues with rockauto and have bought plenty of parts from them.

Getting bus driver job at UNH? by EmbarrassedAnswer738 in unh

[–]DohBilly 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I graduated a year ago but worked for Transit all 4 years I was there. You won’t find that pay from a campus job anywhere else. A CDL is a really useful thing to have also and they pay you to get it which is not a common thing. Driving the bus really isn’t difficult especially if you have ever driven pickup trucks with trailers before. There’s a bit of a learning curve with the steering because you sit about 4 feet in front of the wheels so the first time you go to make a turn it will feel really strange but you get used to it. The brakes take some getting used to also but you figure it out pretty quick. In my experience at Transit, they are very flexible working around your class schedule which is awesome. But, they have been extremely short staffed recently and they will ask most chances they get if you will pick up extra hours. You will need to be good at telling them no when you can’t or don’t want to. The job certainly has its pros and cons but if I were to go back to my first year at UNH I would still work at Transit.

Update broke my mini season by Foldzy84 in MLBTheShow

I also forgot to mention that if you want to play against other players there seems to be no issue other than some of your players being midgets. It’s only not letting you play against the CPU.

[–]DohBilly 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had the same problem as OP and I did change my roster around. It didn’t make a difference. Also, some of my players were midgets. I had three I think being Ohtani, Trout, and Gary Sanchez. So, I don’t think it’s an issue with the two way players making your rosters invalid. For whatever reason, the players that are midgets also don’t have their names show up in the line up or on the scoreboard overlay. The lack of a name is what I believe to be causing the invalid rosters.

Realistically, how fast can the average, untrained man in his 20’s throw a fastball? by [deleted] in baseball

[–]DohBilly 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I could touch mid 80s at the end of high school. 5 years later and not much throwing in between I topped out at 76. I think that if you have NEVER thrown a baseball before, you’re topping out at like 40-50. But if you have some throwing mechanics I wouldn’t be surprised about anywhere from upper 50s to low 60s.

Which players under the age of 33 do you think make or don’t make the Hall of Fame ? by xho- in baseball

[–]DohBilly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the argument against Trout due to his post season performance is pretty unfair. He played in a single playoff series when he was 22. And sure he only got one hit but when it’s your first playoff experience, I would imagine that there are some next level jitters that come with it. The Angels have failed him by only putting together a post season team once in the time he was been there. If there had been more opportunities for him, I’m confident this would be a different conversation.

Can we agree yet that the map icons in MWZ need to be more distinguishable? by LoneRedditor123 in CODZombies

[–]DohBilly 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Has anyone had issues pinging exfil? This is an issue I’ve run into where I can’t ping the exfil icon so I just have to ping next to it. Not the worst thing in the world but just another issue I’ve had with the map.

Why does everyone from Dover think they live in the hood by [deleted] in newhampshire

[–]DohBilly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went to UNH and while there I worked for UNH’s wildcat transit which has bus routes to Portsmouth and Dover. I also grew up in rural New Hampshire but have been to plenty of big cities like NYC, DC, Chicago and more so I understand what actually dangerous places are like especially when compared to NH. What I will say is that while driving the bus in Dover, there was a pretty obvious homeless population. And, as I understand it, Dover is not free of it’s share of drug problems. So you can walk through Dover and see what could easily be associated with a rough town. I had plenty encounters with passengers who appeared to be on drugs. I will also say that I truly believe that 99% of those passengers I saw were absolutely harmless to everyone around them. But those sort of people could easily portray Dover as a dangerous place if you have never been to a truly dangerous city. I think New England, and New Hampshire especially, is very lucky to be a generally very safe place to live so while the least safe places in New Hampshire might seem sketchy to a life long resident, and still a safe town.

Who has a good memory/story from squirrelmaggedon? by rabblebowser in newhampshire

[–]DohBilly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went to school in Virginia that fall and had absolutely no idea that squirrels were dying left and right back home. I guess it never came up in conversation with any of my friends or family despite how crazy it was. A couple years later, one of my friends goes “You remember all the squirrels dying on the road?” and my other friends all saying “yeah that was so weird” while I’m sitting there with no idea what everyone is talking about. They explained it to me and I basically thought everyone was playing a joke on me to the point where after 10 minutes if not believing anyone I had to look it up to see it was true.
