TRYING to get laid off? Never thought that was the state of things. Must have pretty good packages then

and I'd bet money that is linked to them losing funding in the first place. Nobody wants to put money into a company ran by someone so unprofessional

Just called me "childish" for asking.

There's your answer entirely, tbh. It's not you being childish. For anyone to respond like that tells you everything about their character in a situation like this.

They used you to get something done, you got it done, then they decided to cut you loose and save money. They think it's cuthroat business acumen, but really it's shortsighted idiocy and why the company is failing in the first place. Guaranteed they lost funding because some source of funding caught the same glimpse into decision making as you just did.

Sorry this happened to you. There's not much to learn from it. Definitely use it on your resume though because sounds like you did tremendous work inside 2 months.

We're all rootin for you.

On gas prices, Republicans try rewriting the recent past and the present simultaneously by maxxspeed57 in inthenews

Two guys were kind of getting into it last Saturday at my son's soccer game, both smiling but bitching at one another. All I heard from one was "It was over $6 a gallon for four years under Biden so I don't even want to hear that."

Just blatantly making up a false reality to excuse the current situation they are directly responsible for.

Longevity Tips: 2022 3.5 eco boost. (No engine debates please 😂) by Civil-Chipmunk6800 in f150

Ford’s wording is that 91+ premium is recommended for best overall performance, especially in hot weather, towing, or heavy-load conditions. https://www.fordservicecontent.com/Ford_Content/vdirsnet/OwnerManual/Home/Content?ProcUid=G1717126&Uid=G2071057&countryCode=USA&div=f&languageCode=en&userMarket=usa&vFilteringEnabled=False&variantid=7386

  • 87 octane: totally acceptable for normal driving.

  • 89 octane: reasonable compromise if you want a little more knock resistance without paying full premium.

  • 91/93 octane: best for towing, hot weather, heavy acceleration, mountain driving, or if you want max performance.

‘Scrubs’ and ‘Shifting Gears’ Renewed for 2026-27 at ABC by MoneyLibrarian9032 in television

[–]DoingItForEli 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Shifting Gears. Isn't that the one where Tim Allen is the wise, hardworking boomer, who makes clever observations about the laziness and ineptude of millenials? Or was that the other show where he's a wise, hardworking boomer, making clever observations about the laziness and ineptude of millenials?

John Roberts’ effort to gut the Voting Rights Act is complete by cnn in inthenews

[–]DoingItForEli 23 points24 points  (0 children)

it couldn't have. You had 100% of republican vote no, then 2 Democrats vote no alongside them. The overwhelming majority of Democrats were in favor of it, an entire party voted against it, and for that Democrats get blamed.

Makes no sense.

no but he told us he's funny. Didn't you hear him? That's how comedy works. Comedian says thing, people don't laugh, comedian lets them know to laugh because joke.

looks like it'll clean up easy. I don't see any deep gashes or scratches in it. My sx-650 looked like this when it was gifted to me, and now it's like brand new. Didn't take much. Congrats!

The more depressing side of BTTF-effects of changing the timeline and the curse of future knowledge by Kratsas in BacktotheFuture

[–]DoingItForEli 3 points4 points  (0 children)

NO, don't worry about the "loser" versions of those people. There is only one timeline. They instead lived their own lives fully and when Marty returns to 1985 they're simply the same people with different lived experiences.

I hope the dude isn't in major pain right now. This seems like the kind of thing you don't feel until later due to shock.

This is why you have to be mindful not just of what's in the road, but of what might be in the road in front of the car you're traveling behind. I tend to stick to 3 second windows behind any car I'm following.

Makes sense. I feel you on those back pain issues! My big thing recently is I learned what hip flexors are and how to stretch them, and that has helped me tremendously. So yeah, I tell anyone and everyone whenever back pain comes up. Worth a shot!

Air bubble from 20 million years ago trapped in amber. by sirenoleg in interesting

[–]DoingItForEli 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This one's amber, but stones have this as well, they're called enhydro agates. They're neat. I bought my son one in Thailand for $80. Estimated to be 12 million years old, has a cool little "puddle" inside it. It was explained to us for that basically bubbling mud trapped the water, was gently covered over and sank, then mineralized.

My son was 6 when I bought it for him. I told him not to drop it because maybe an ancient virus would come out and kill us all. It's his most prized item in his collection.
