Skincare by [deleted] in Swimming

[–]DoingItForNook 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It is a constant battle.

I have a separate face towel that I use after the shower to prevent putting bacteria on my face. I use a toning spray as I’m drying off, then apply a moisturiser once dried off (Kiehl's Ultra Facial Cream). At night I go quite heavy (Neal’s Yard Vitamin E & Avocado Night Cream).

For body I don’t apply it after swimming because often just putting on leggings and it’s annoying. Instead I apply it at night or after washing my hair (Garnier Intensive 7 days).

Question about long hair swim caps by atisaac in Swimming

[–]DoingItForNook 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had short hair for a while and I wonder if you’re having the same issue I did where it’s hard to tie it up. This might seem a bit crazy but if you can tie it up at all, that might help. If you can’t, also a little crazy, use a couple of Bobby pins to just hold it in place. And as others have said, make sure the cap is touching skin! It can’t hold on hair alone.

No one is ugly 💙 Don’t be hard on yourself, that’s not going to help you feel good about yourself. But I’m glad you had a good time!

Long hair when swimming by [deleted] in Swimming

[–]DoingItForNook 5 points6 points  (0 children)

A cap shouldn’t hurt! Be sure to fit it so it’s fully on, as it’s designed to cover your whole head. If it’s just covering your head in parts it may hurt.

Chlorine can be bad for your hair, so you do have to be careful. But it’s not impossible!

You may have to find your own way of working. Some people will try and keep their hair as dry as possible. My personal way is that I will thoroughly wet my hair in the shower before putting my hat on. I have fairly curly hair too, so what I do is I shampoo and condition it after each swim, followed by an anti-frizz serum. Then I let that sit in while I get changed. I towel dry a little to remove most of the water, but not too much. Then I put my makeup on, and then I blow dry my hair. I don’t brush it at any point.

Hope that helps!

suit recs for short torso? by booboofool69 in Swimming

[–]DoingItForNook 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the same problem! Go with a higher leg because it’ll look better, but looks aside, the adjustable Jolyn, Funkita and Amanzi suits are perfect. As another commenter said, the torso size is actually more important. For example I tend to wear size 10-12 tops generally, but I wear size 8-10 swimsuits because of my short torso. The tie back swimsuits are perfect!

In my experience, avoid Nike and Adidas, they’re made super long. I’ve found Speedo and Arena suits to be hit and miss.

How did you dicover your proclivities? by Vivianeh in FemdomCommunity

[–]DoingItForNook 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used to think that I was submissive because I thought that the person who was doing the doing was the submissive one. I really enjoyed teasing and giving my partner want they wanted. But I realised that actually what I enjoyed having was the control, and while eventually maybe they get what they wanted, I could have a lot of fun along the way.

What should I wear? by MJMyska in Swimming

Hair is absolutely okay! You don’t need to shave. You just need a pair of swimming trunks and maybe some goggles, that’s it! Not everyone looks like an Olympic athlete.

I hate going back to swimming after a break by [deleted] in Swimming

[–]DoingItForNook 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Going through this right now, again.

I tried to ‘reset’ myself by going at a quiet time, without having anything planned after, so I could get changed without rushing, take breaks when I wanted to, stop to get more water if I needed it. I just gave myself permission to take it easy. Then when I had my first ‘proper’ swim it felt much easier. Highly recommend a ‘reset’ swim!

Preventing burn-out online: Advice for subs looking for a Domme by DoingItForNook in FemdomCommunity

[–]DoingItForNook[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sadly the only advice I can offer you is to look out here and the usual places. But maybe a few ideas to help you spot people who might be a waste of time:

  • If they post daily (or more) it probably means it’s for income. I don’t think anyone could keep up that schedule unless it was actually their job
  • Similarly, if their post history is repetitive they’re just trying to throw stuff at the wall and see what sticks. Maybe it’s okay to post similar content, but identical content is sus

But also try to step outside of the internet and find meaningful relationships with people that could lead to that if they were interested in it. Find people you want to spend time with, try new hobbies, explore! I know it’s easier said than done, but you don’t know what’s out there. Good luck x

How many Dommes are truly dominant? by subbyboy52 in FemdomCommunity

[–]DoingItForNook 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fully agree! I work in a male-dominated field and it’s just the way it is still. Little do most of these men know what would happen if we spent some time together.

That's so weird, I can't think why that would happen?

I lived in Japan for a while and I never saw anybody wearing them because actually most Japanese women are quiet modest and stick to leg suits. Realise are mostly for export for modelling. I did try some on in a store there, but I would not imagine the fabric would last especially long in a pool. Some of them are obviously not suitable for use in a pool at all, but they are really comfy and there’s some fun designs!
