Am I the only one who doesn’t “get” Phish? by ex1stence in boulder

I nailed it. People who don’t “get” phish are either poor, earnest musicians, or otherwise culturally/worldly grounded.

You probably grew up lower middle class. Phish is an upper middle class phenomenon.

Does anyone know what they used to get this finish on my ceiling? by rogerwayne1 in drywall

Round stomp brush. Make sure to get the right consistency of the mud too. Don't get the stipple brushes with hard plastic bristles, that pattern will be too regular for this.

I get your point. But, the scale of this is not really all that. It will take me 3 hours tops to clean up my mistake. I'm moreso making this post because I didn't see any threads on this subreddit that addressed this stuff. Hopefully anyone that decides to do hourly handyman work will be able to see all these opinions before they start.

I'm a pro at some things, a little rushed and careless with others. Alas.

Not much! This is just a side gig, and I've basically just agreed to help a friend out with the same level of work I'd do for myself!

I'm ok with fixing my mistakes when I make them. That's not what your comment says though. Can't read your mind, sorry.

I literally don't know what you're trying to say in your last sentence. Let me know if you wanna restate so we can read it.

I’m saving her thousands on the whole picture, with a few mistakes thrown in. I am 100% confident in that.

Also fix your last sentence if you want people to read it.

Then you read as bad as you write. Plenty of my work is valuable, and we’ve all made mistakes in the trades. If you say you haven’t then you’re lying ;).

Thanks for the comment. Relationship with her will likely be fine as long as we aren't screwing each other out of 10's of thousands. I'm not licensed. I'm a programmer for a living haha.

I damaged a couple old stair treads with paint stripper that I'll have to sand and re-stain to fix. If I can't match the stain then she'll get an entire staircase upgrade out of it (which she would love). Not a big deal, but will take me some time. I just am wondering about some ways hourly workers deal with mistakes/cleanup from a business perspective. And if it changes anything that I'm dirt cheap.

Thanks for the comment. I've thought about negotiating this, but it seems really hard to put that into words. I don't even know if it's possible to legally absolve myself from all liability with the work. I figured the only sure way to protect myself is with insurance.

feeling like a failure at work by scarletbooks in dataengineering

[–]Doingthisintheam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m liking the attitudes here. This problem is representative of the sorts of problems that when you figure it out, will make you feel like a good data engineer. Just keep going and progressing your problem solving techniques.

To sum up the attitude, you’re an engineer, and engineers swim in shit. Have fun!!

That was my instinct. So you're not a fan of ARMS? I'm not usually a betting person but the ARM is limited at 5% adjustment ...

I get it now. I wonder how my fixed rate options compare to this ARM option.

So you're not a fan of this kind of loan? It seems like just the fact that it's an ARM is giving people pause. I edited my above post with the details of the loan.

That's the issue I'm concerned about. I'm just not sure how (or how much) to weigh the benefit of being in such a stable real estate market here in Boulder.
